exhausted all avenues? what is left? every judge has sided with the husband as he is next of kin. or do you mean every avenue until you find a judge that agrees with your side and opposite of the law?

J, how can you say that buddy? You more than likely would not be able to comprehend anything in that state. To make a decision on living or dying in a condition such as hers would have to be made BEFORE-HAND. And that's what Im saying here..........

If I were ever to end up in her condition, no, I definitely would not want to go on......

I have said that I have mixed feelings about this. On one side I think that her husband should have the say just so on what goes. On the other, if her parents want to take the time to care for her the rest of her life or their lives, then let them do it. Sadly I think it has come down to more of a personal battle between them instead of whats best for her........

Obviously not money because he's turned down those large amounts offered in exchange to let her live. That doesn't leave much blue besides her telling him at one time or another that she wouldnt want to go on in such a situation. Cmon now, most of us at one time or another have said to our spouse or somebody when we've seen something similar on TV or somewhere else what's happened to her the following ........... "If I ever end up like that or if anything like that happens to me, just let me die"

Obviously no one knows exactly what her wishes are. All I know is that there is only one person who I want to make this decsion for me, and that's my wife.

Blue, 21 years. And the only person who I trust with my life. As much as I love my folks, they would not know my wishes in a situation like this and my wife would. BTW, hope the tourney is treating you well.

Blue, was supposed to call me when he got back to town. Never heard from him. Tell him to call me. Would still like to help the cause.

if she were an animal (OK - all humans are animals - but by this i mean cat/dog/etc.) and this happened to her - EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US would take the animal to the vet and have it put to sleep to do the humane thing and put it out of its misery (or for some - shoot it)

so why can't we do the same to humans in situations like this?

5 years ago my 93-year-old grandmother passed away. she had been in declining health for some time. she had almost no hearing and eyesight. her body had simply given out on her and after a long and prosperous life - she had enough pain and wanted to die. the last 6 months of her life she literally never left her bed and spent every waking moment saying how much she wanted to die. we had some caregivers look after her 24/7. grandma lived in some retirement hotel kind of place (like leisure world) and the caregivers were given EXPLICIT instructions that when it looked like grandma was finally going to die NOT TO CALL ANYONE - especially at the place grandma stayed at - and let grandma die - for if these ladies had called anyone they would have rushed down to try and save grandma - which was 180-degrees opposite of what grandma wanted - and the rest of us.

when the time came that grandma FINALLY passed away the ladies did EXACTLY what we wanted them to do - and let her die - THEN call us first THEN call others. we were grateful these ladies did EXACTLY what all of us wanted them to do. when it came time to get rid of some of grandma's furniture we ended up giving these ladies more than a few pieces of rather nice (and somewhat expensive) furniture as our way of showing gratitude for doing EXACTLY what we wanted them to do.

if there was anyway possible for us to put grandma "to sleep" 6 months earlier - we would have done it - even though she was my last remaining grandparent. obviously my mother didn't want to see her mother pass away but even she knew the time had come and when grandma died - we weren't happy in any way - but we were relived that the pain and suffering had FINALLY come to an end.

this is what should be going on with Terri Schiavo. sorry terri's mom/dad - your daughter has been brain dead for some time now. i know you still love her deeply - as you should - but it is also time to realize she has NO CLUE who you are and NEVER will.

the time to save Terri was BEFORE she became a veggie - NOT NOW when she IS one! when she dies it won't be easy for anyone to take - but it will be the right thing!

my guess is her parents will then trun around and try and find a way to sue Michael Schiavo for some sort of asinine reason. if they do - i hope that not only does the court rule against them but it makes them pay Mike's attorney fees for filing a frivilous (sp?) lawsuit!

good thing she will pass.i think we all agree that.wrong way to go about it.this needs to be an eye opener to this country to establish some sort of system or way to be able to "put people to sleep in a painless peaceful manner" becuz what there doing is absolutely inhumane.we all agree if were a veg dont make us suffer.but to starve someone to death is asinine.and j.bush trying to continue the circus he should be smacked upside his head.r.i.p shiavo becuz its only time now.

MODS and or SHRINK

I know this is the Rubberroom and almost anything goes, but EVILDRUNKS comments are offensive and disgusting, and in no way should be allowed to be kept on your site in any way shape or form! This person should be banned immediatly , no questions asked. I do not know EVILDRUNK at all and until today did not even know he/she was a poster here, but I do know that this site and its managements has to much class to let this person be a member here, let alone make any more posts.
Please guys do the right thing here!
Thank you
