Chicago White Sox vs. Oakland A's
Chicago White Sox+150

After a 2-12 start on the road, the White Sox have won three straight games on the highway and will be out for an overall season high winning streak tonight. The A's meanwhile continue to fall further down the standings as they have dropped eight of their last nine games and are a dismal 5-16 over their last 21 games. Despite all of this, Oakland is favored by a huge number tonight and it is simply too much on matter the pitching matchup. Jesse Chavez has been very solid with a 2.56 ERA and 1.01 WHIP over his four starts since coming back into the rotation but the A's are just 1-3 in those games which is a perfect example that great pitching does not always translate to wins. They are giving him only 2.5 rpg of support and gong back they are 2-6 in Chavez' last eight starts following a team loss in their previous game. John Danks is winless on the road but he has not been as bad as the numbers indicate and if there is one place that can turn him around, it is here. He has a 2.79 ERA here and in 11 career starts against Oakland, he has a 2.38 ERA and all but one of those have been quality performances. Play (925) Chicago White Sox

Your Saturday freebie is the Tampa Bay Lightning to steal home ice advantage in Game One against the New York Rangers.

New York will be just a little flat after coming back from a 3-1 series deficit against Washington, capped by their emotional come-from-behind Game Seven 2-1 overtime win over the Capitals.

Tampa had to dig a deep in dispatching the Canadians, but they have had the extra day to prepare, and they have won each of the past 4 series meetings against the Blue Shirts, and 5 of the last 6 showdowns overall have gone Tampa's way.

Think we are in for another doozy of a series, but the price is right to take the underdog Lightning to catch the Rangers flat-footed in Game One.

Lightning strike!

Boston Red Sox vs. Seattle Mariners
Seattle Mariners-168

King Felix is back today with a 6-0 record and a Strong 1.85 ERA as he battles the Red Sox's Porcello, who normally pitches well at Safeco field, but has not seen Major League action in Seattle since 2011. Not to mention Boston's starter today looked horrible the last time he pitched at Safeco giving up 10 hits and 6 runs back in 2011. Look for Hernandez to roll today against Boston and smash your Man on the Big Bookie Basher!

The Phillies have won three in a row, and this is a good spot for them to jump on them for a fourth-straight win. I'm not listing pitchers because I've never been a Jerome Williams fan - I think he is overrated and isn't all that. But I also like that Arizona is handing the ball to Archie Bradley.

The Diamondbacks' right-hander has been on the disabled list since he was struck in the face by a line drive on April 28. While I know he's shown great command of his pitches since debuting earlier this season - with a win over the Dodgers and Clayton Kershaw - he's going to be gunshy and he won't have much on his stuff today.

Trust me, you take a shot to the face like he did, you're not trying to stay in the zone and throw BB's down the pike.

Look for Philly to tee off, and get on board via plenty of walks today. Lay te home chalk.

My Bonus Play is on the Over in the Rays/Twins game.

PITCHING NOTE: Every Run Line/Total play will list pitchers with the starting pitchers scheduled to go at the time of the wager. And tonight I am emphatic about who is starting for both teams. Thus, be sure that Alex Colome and Trevor May are the pitchers of record when making your play. If either one or these pitchers is not going, disregard this play.

Pure speculation here, but something tells me these two pitchers' recent performances will have them scrambling today.

Colome is in after being tagged for four home runs in a loss to the Yankees on Monday night. He's only thrown one road game this season, albeit a victory against the Red Sox, as he surrendered two runs in five innings. Now he takes on a feisty Twins team that likes to hit at home.

They should, today, with May starting for them. Minnesota's right-hander struggled against the Indians on Sunday, getting pelted for six runs on nine hits and three walks over four innings. It was his worst outing of the season in six starts.

Look for the offensive juices to flow in this one. Play it high.

The SMART INTANGIBLE involving the Orioles - UBALDO. I'm listing pitchers because I think Ubaldo Jimenez is a gift at -115. The only reason this line is low is cause it's te Angels, who to me aren't worth a damn right now. Baltimore's right-hander is far too difficult for the Halos to solve in this one.

The SMART INTANGIBLE involving the Angels - SHOEMAKER. The Halos hand the ball to Matt Shoemaker, who I think will promptly hand the ball to whomever wants to go yrd today. The right-hander has been hurt by the long ball, as he's struggled to locate his fastball and allowed 10 home runs in 31-1/3 innings.

In conclusion, why BALTIMORE is my SMART PLAY in this game - Jimenez, who moves up a day on full rest to take the place of ailing Bud Norris, will use that unorthodox delivery and arm action from over the top to keep the Angels in handcuffs at the plate. He comes in after allowing just two runs on six hits, while striking out nine, in seven innings of a 5-2 win over the Blue Jays on Monday.

There's a reason opponents are batting just .188 against him, and a lot of it has to do with that mid-90s fastball he sinks well. He also complements it with a curveball that he tends to change speed with, and break well. The Angels are aggressive at the plate, and that won't help them when Jimenez throws his circle change.

He's a much better choice than Shoemaker, who just served up three home runs against the Astros last Saturday, and eventually gave up six runs in three innings. Lay the slim number with Baltimore and list both.

1* Bonus Play on TB@NYR to go UNDER the total...

The New York Rangers are hosting the Tampa Bay Lightning for the opener of the 2015 Eastern Conference finals. The hosts needed seven games to get past Washington in their semifinal and each of their 12 playoff games on the year have been decided by just one goal. Both teams are likely to have a cautious approach here in Game 1.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Previous History - The Lightning have seen the total go over just three times in their last 10 games, while the Rangers have only had one of their last 10 games go over the number.
2. Home Cookin' - Four of the Rangers last five at MSG have gone under the total, and Henrik Lundqvist stopped 63-of-65 shots in his last two home games against the Caps.
3. X-Factor - Ben Bishop has a 1.81 goals-against average in 13 playoff games and has not lost to the Rangers in eight games.
