I will be honest with you guys, I have NO idea what to expect at this point,,,,meeting hundreds of people I 'sort of know' all at once who have all already met is going to be a little strange.

I really don't know what to expect...it will be interesting putting faces with the names, although I have seen a lot of you guys in pictures from past Bash's ... not sure if people expect me to be some freak who was afraid to show up before or what but I assure everyone I am as down to earth as they come.

Were you at the 1983 WS by any chance? We may have already been in the same building.

Missed that one, was living in Vegas at the time...but I was at the 1980 World Series final game at the Vet where Carlton and McGraw tamed the Royals....sports highlight of my life, and then I really screwed up and got married the next day.....

Journeyman....The Judge always brings that 1983 Series up when we get together...little info for you, I personally knew the batboy for the Orioles during the 60's...his name is Jay Mazzone and he was badly burned in a fire when he was a child...his Dad was a trooper for the state of Maryland...I went to school with Jay's uncle in New Jersey....attended alot of Oriole games in the 60's and the early 70's....have lost touch with them but the Mazzone family is a memory that I will remember always....

I remember Jay Mazzone, i think he was probably there in the early 70's ...Jimmy Tyler was the ball guy who sat behind the plate and gave the ump the balls and never missed a game for like 30 years..Pat Santarone the groundkeeper use to grow his tomatoes down in the groundkeeper pit out by leftfield line, Rex Barney the Orioles public address man "give that fan a contract' Ralph Salvon...The cab driver Wild Bill Hagy, Chuch Thompson and Bill O'Donnell, 'Naty Bo', ... 'The Orioles way' ...I'm sure Judge can relate to this stuff.

I was at games 1-2 and 3 (in Phi) in '83 ....I remember game 1 sitting in the rain, the O's lost on a late inning Gary Maddox homer, that was the only loss...that was a pretty boring WS though overall.

Journeyman....I remember those wild Oriole characters, especially Wild Bill Hagy...the 83 series was OK, but never boring....really thought the Phils would be perrenial visitors to the World Series back then, but times are tough for Philly fans....anyway, sorry to get off the topic, hope to see you at the Bash....

Does Fish go to these things and is he coming this year?

Also do most people come alone or bring their spouses?

Time, each Rxer is allowed to bring a guest, whoever they like - wife, girlfriend, boyfriend in the case of our female Rxers, brother, sister or friend. Guests natrually can share your comped room and attend all the festivities. However only actual posters will be eligible to win cash prizes.

The poker tournament may be open to guests on a if seat available basis and in that case I believe they can win prize money if they finish in one of the top spots. Xpanda will be explaining all of this in greater detail soon (May 1st. I understand).

I look forward to meeting you this year.

Regarding Fishhead, like everyone else who posts here he is welcome to attend and I very much hope he does. Time will tell.

Wil thanks for the info.

Truthfully I thought everyone just came out and got rooms and hung out and drank. Didnt know it was like an "organized" event.

You comp rooms for any posters who want to come? That is very generous.

I do like how you phrased this "boyfriend in the case of our female Rxers" Would be awfully interesting if a male member showed up with a boyfriend.:lolBIG: In all seriousness I see you say they are welcomed but is the majority just the posters? Dont want her to hold me back from some events if it aint normal. I ask some of this cause I know others who havent been there probably wont ask but wonder.

Anywho I look forward to meeting you,Journey,Funk and a bunch of these knuckleheads posters.
