nyc,

you can't even get your facts straight
"mcnabb led the orangemen to an undefeated seaon his sr year..." answer me this -- how did they do against tenn??? or how about nc state??? or how about w virginia???? jeese!!! tell me your kidding!

then, in true mcnabb fashion -- got killed in the big game where the team needed his leadership -- getting outclassed in the orange bowl 31-10.

and perhaps, his best year as a qb, his jr. year at syracuse (went 9-3), but his best season stat wise -- and once again loses the fiesta 35-18, but at least in garbage time he was able to get his off into the teens!!!

but i'm sure it was the wr fault, the rb fault, the coaches fault, the ol fault??

reminds me of "leon" on the busweiser commercials -- "hell, chuck it might even be your fault."

you libs are so pathetic!!! NO self - responsibility. and you wonder why you were smoked in the 2000 election -- the counrty is sick of your pompass, self-serving, B.S.!

of course Rush was right. That if McNabb has broken ribs, that he's an over-rated quarterback who forces his wide-recievers to run bad routes and drop passes that hit them right the chest. When healthy, he's just another over-hyped product of the NFL media machine that even though he leads his team to the #1 seed in the NFC or the NFC Championship game every year, he eventually will get broken ribs on a cheap shot, cause his team to lose their #1 playmaker, a player like Brian Westbrook, to a season-ending injury right before the playoffs, and then of course, not be able to make key tackles at the goal-line even though he has 5 different shots at the ball-carrier, and then of course get all turned around in pass coverage, allowing a floating duck of a pass to be easily caught for a touchdown by the receiver even though that receiver is double-covered at the time. And since McNabb calls all the plays, it's obviously his fault for having his team be able to run the ball 80 yards down the Panthers throat down to the 5 yard line and then call all passing plays and follow this pattern like 5 series in a row. And since Donovan also plays on Special Teams, it was obvoiusly all his fault as he allowed the Panther kick-returners to give the Panthers excellent field position on every Eagle kick-off.

Again, Donovan McNabb proves that football is just a one-man spectacle, not the team game that it claims to be, and that he is just a product of the NFL Hype machine and that the fallacy of him leading his college team, Syracuse, to an undefeated season his Senior year, his subsequent 3 NFC Championship game appearances in his first 4 seasons in the league, and 3 Pro Bowl appearance are nothing more than a manufactured media mirage, just to placate the growing tide of Black Economic Influence and subsequent Revolutionary fervor being experienced in America today.

Yeah thank you hansen for proving me right. you know when you put a "-someone" that normally means that that person is the author.

Are you just downright stupid?

Sportsbet,

I disagrred witht he tone of Hansen post, largely because he was making ones opinion of MCnabb, an indication of ones political ideology...which is a huge fallacy.

However, Rush opinions aside (and I hate the freedom hating coward) Mcnabb played like shit, and the Panther IMO did dominate the game. THe eagles scored 3 points....no matter how you shake that...the QB andt the whole offense sucked.

Granted his recievers were bad...but Mcnabb was too.

chonce,

i concur with your thoughts on mcnabb, but rush???? freedom hater????? i've heard him called a lot of things, but that's a new one??? could you expand on that so, that i may understand your reasoning?? thanks

gl

chonce I will say he didn't play a very good game...but he was hurt. The offensive line did a piss poor job (again) of giving him time to throw the ball. When he did have time and did get the ball to his receivers they dropped it or they tipped it in the air for the Panthers DB's (namely Ricky Manning). Unfortunately with the bad ribs he wasn't able to throw very well or run out of the pocket. I defend him because people want to make him out to be a bad QB and that's just not true. Is he as good as the media makes him out to be? I could care less about the media's perception of our QB. If he wins games and plays hard that means more to me than anyone's opinion (including Limbaugh's).

The decisions made by upper management in this offseason are more important than they've ever been. If they decide to let Vincent and Taylor go the way of free agency I will be very upset to say the least. We will see...

sportbet,

i'm sorry to say, but i think it's all over but the crying in philly. these opportunities don't come around that often, and philly had had more than their fair share. when they come you really have to seize the opportunity, not shit on it. in the 3 nfc champ losses mcnabb is 54-101 514yds 1 td, 5INT's. worse than not good; i do believe he's better than that, but i do not believe that he is much more than mediocre.

but now, free agency and the salary cap are going to tear this team apart. arguabley, your best def and off players (vincent and staley) are more than likely gone. taylor might go as well as a few other impact players, and thing will just unravel from there. trust me, i'm a viking fan i've seen it first hand. reid will probably be gone after next year as well. there really is not a lot of reasons for optimism, that i see anyhow.

gl

hansen,

The cap room gives me hope they can pull one of these big name wideouts in. They have good CB's waiting in the wings to replace Troy and Bobby but they're not there yet to be every down corners. I heard Rich Hoffman (Eagles Beat Writer) say today that if Troy and Bobby go they might as well get rid of Dawk because he will be useless in Johnson's defense. I don't want them to waver on what they do though and the Eagles front office has a history of screwing it all up.

You've got the money to reload but there were grumbling guys in the locker room at the beginning of this year when they didn't go out and address the same problems that surfaced against Carolina personnel wise (namely at wideout..they gave Pinkston a ton of money and that was obviously a big mistake). I'll miss Staley but Westbrook can and will be a better back than Deuce.

I hate to say this as well but we miss Hugh Douglas and Sean Barber more than will ever be let on. I hate feeling like I'm being held hostage by this football team again but unfortunately it will feel that way until the free agency game plays out.

Apologize for the ramblings...it's been a dissapointing 48 hours.

i'm completely empathtic to your feelings the vikes pull almost exactly the same shit! i think your stuck with pinston, exactly because of the mistake they made last year in the off-season. and if you lose the cornerstones to your def, it changes the mindset -- despite the young talent coming up. that's the important thing.
i also think you completely hit the nail on the head w/ douglas, and barber! on the bright side you have AI??? at least the flyers are in first!!!

gl

Flyers hanging on by a thread and now no Desjardins.

Sixers were a gut play today and blow a 19 point lead to lose by 9!

It's a good thing I have plenty of Pepto on hand.

Hansen,

Rush Supports the harsh prosecution of those who are guilty of victimless crimes,(despite his own addictions to oppiates), and supports the patriots act. He may never admit it, but the only civil liberty he supports is the one to own guns. (which I also support)

Drug war illogical
Rush Limbaugh, the patron saint of drug warriors, is addicted to drugs. You can hear a pin drop from the silence of the Neocons who have ridiculed any approach remotely resembling logic when it comes to matters of drug policy.
Using drugs without permission of the state is vehemently opposed, even if terminal patients are racked with pain from cancer or trying to suppress nausea prohibiting them from retaining their medications. It’s more appropriate people die, go blind or suffer excruciating agony than for the state to weaken its power over us.

Some use drugs for "pleasure" but nothing since the "Patriot Act" has done more to destroy freedom than the drug war. Asset forfeiture, no-knock searches and seizures, the militarization of our police are just some of the damaging effects of these laws.

Conservatives do not see this, if so Rush would have insisted on going to jail. I wish him well in his recovery and hope he and his followers reconsider their jihad against drugs and realize that drug use is a personal choice and drug abuse is a health concern that is best left between a doctor or a rehab center and not the state. — David Wise, Medford
