It's not thank you's (which I could care less about) wil. I don't think there is anyway you can defend the advertiser here in CS. BetCRIS gets a thread a week about their CS and rightly so.

Your money is safe and I still use them, but their CS department is slow, stupid, and lazy.

Deal with it then? What did I just say, I still use them with my other books. CS is least important to me, I'm saying it's no surprise that a thread like this comes up every week about CRIS's CS - they're horrible.

Oh, I get it, you work @ CRIS in CS department. Nice representation telling me to "deal with it". Typical, proves my point.

Suprised to hear this about Cris. Have withdrawn from them 3 times in last 6 weeks and they have been pleasant and efficient. Rarely phone in my bets unless on the road but don't remember having any trouble with them. Don't expect a whole lot or need it though. For many years just dealt with brusque locals so off-shore clerks all seem like sweethearts compared to them though!

The problem with a lot of thinking around here is just what when on between fucnluc and IrisDC. Unless you have something bad, derrogatory or agree with whoever it is that is complaining about that days problem book you have to be a shill and work for the book in question.. To actually offer a real solution like talk to management about whatever problems exists between books and posters seems to many to be to simple of a solution.

Personally if it was up to me (in other words if I owed the place) I would tell posters like fucnluc to play elsewhere rather than deal with the slow stupid and lazy people that I choose to employ.

I'm really getting disinchanted with CRIS. What do they give you afterall? You lay -110 in baskets and -120 in MLB. I've never had a problem with CS but now they are calling to get you to post up! Then you get these emails saying they "missed" you today. Pretty odd since my GF is home all day and never got a call from them. She's knows I gamble so there's no problem.

But I really feel they should give free withdrawals more than on Friday. One day when they screwed up on a Friday withdrawal, they charged me when the withdrawal went through on Monday! Now that's a big deal when you are only withdrawing $100 to get into a poker tournament. 15%! Too steep for me. But their Customer Appreciation points for Bonus Bets are nice. I scored heavily there at the end of last football season!

I get the "We missed you" email at least once a week. In my case I think they just see an international number and don't bother though. Most books seem to do the same :p

I will cancel every bet I make if the clerk says "Good luck" That's 1 of the reasons I get friends to make bets for me when I'm in Las Vegas. Most clerks will say good luck here unless they know you and respect the fact that you don't want to be good lucked!

Wrote a few tickets in my time and answered a lot of phones, experience tells me there is a correlation between sophistication of the bettor and how much customer service he needs. The pros just want to get on and off the phone, the squares usually want you to be polite and chat with them, especially in a local shop.

I'm not addressing that to anyone specific in this thread, I don't know anyone, but that is how it used to be. They wanted to talk and tell you about that bad break they got on the last leg of their 6 team parlay yesterday and so on. We used to call it the bad beat line just like when you got stuck calling around to fill up the poker game that night, LOL. The sharks came right over, you had to be nicer to the fish....

If someone really wants to get their ass kissed when they call in a bet, maybe one of those books with the 18 year old flirting with you would be better? Having a pal might be more important to them than the action. Each to it's own, nobody is wrong in what they prefer.

StuckinVegas....If you got shafted by CRIS on the Free Friday withdrawal, I will personally see that you get reimbursed...CRIS pays promptly and has a pretty sound loyalty program...if anyone is EVER rude to a customer, I can assure you that they are dealt with quickly...the best thing to do is to get the person's name that you are dealing with and ask for a supervisor...everyone has their good and bad days...I know because I've been on both ends....I believe that your problems are not the norm, and that overall, the CS department at CRIS is doing a good job...If you ever come to Costa Rica, stop by our shop and then make your judgement...I'd rather deal with all CS shops in Costa Rica than some of the finest corporations in the U.S. P.S.....you should really hear some tapes of rude and drunk customers that some sportsbooks put up with....JMO

Wil, there are plenty of places to play. There are plenty of places that are not rude and act professional. Why a book, who currently cold calls for business, wouldn't act a little more professionally is completely absurd.

This thread, at the very least, should act as a wake up call that customer service can be improved to increase customer satisfaction. Your attitude concerning this is obviously from a burnt out ticket taker's point of view and should not be the business approach of a book hoping to increase and/or maintain current business.

You have been hardened by your long experience in this biz which is affecting your ability to view this rationally.

I don't understand that, is it some kind of gamblers superstition that never made it's way to this side of the Atlantic?

Wil, there are plenty of places to play.

They certainly are, I hope you find that perfect spot for yourself. The kind where you get a nice pat on the back for calling some 800 mumber in a foreign country and saying "whats up bro" and the rest of the cliches but don't forget to explain that he better be polite because you know of plenty of places that will stroke your ego and not have to be rerminded to do so.

Persoanally I doubt if you have the slighest clue about what really goes on in a real sportsbook. Probably for the best, actual live hands on experience can affect ones view on reality.

Watch "Two for the Money" again, then you might be ready to disucss the finer points of bookmaking with Larry King.. You can say things like XYZ sports.com gets all my action because they are so nice, they always say such nice things about that bad beat I took last night, on the other hand ABC Sports.com has better lines and you pay less juice but they are so grouchy and never wish me Merry Xmas...Larrry you have beeen around - tell me who is going to get your business. Certainly not those low life hang up on ya without saying Merry Christmas but guaranteed to pay on time everytime grouches..

I stand by what I said Wil. It is a shame that you think it is ok to be rude because some callers are also rude. Keep defending rudeness.

My parents and grandparents drilled into us kids proper grammer, good manners and being polite and is actually a flaw of mine.

Don;t think that I wasn't the apple that fell from the tree as I cuse like a sailor and so forth.

I'm a sales vendor and sometimes I feel the customers I service want to tell me to stfu.

And of course I instll this in my kids and notice that thier friends are so rude and unappreciative.

It's all in how you were brought up and ticket writers probably had a gambling degenerate type back ground.

Not that theres any thing wrong with that!

the only ones who accept rudeness seem to be those who used to or still do write tickets. I used to wait tables on rude customers, but I don't think it is reason enough to expect rude service where I dine.

To each his own, I guess

I just don't care. If they get the bet right, i could care less.

If it was a CS issue, it matters more.

I think I average 3-4 phoned in bets a year though.
