Bzzzt. I would feel the same way if I wasn't a Christian. I would say the exact same thing that the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention said, and they are by no means a religious organization.

The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention worries about the subliminal message. Christine Moutier, chief medical officer at the AFSP, expressed concern about the tweet, telling the Washington Post Tuesday, “Suicide should never be presented as an option,” before adding, “(it) presents suicide in too celebratory a light.”

you and your cut and paste bullshit

Me pasting a two sentence quote is bullshit?

Fact is, you will never be known for your intellectual capacity. I'm sorry that I might have used some big words that you didn't understand.

Which part of this quote did you find was bullshit? Or, were you just not adding anything substantive to the discussion (as usual)?

what'd he have to gain by being "selfish"

Death. He gave up and left his family behind. His children will never be the same. His youngest does not understand why he did it, had to close her Twitter account because of all the negative comments about her father. It's just a very selfish thing to do to your family. And a sin on top of it.

I don't agree with much akphidelt says, but he's spot on here...

The guy was married 3 times, the second of three was to the nanny. Documented extramarital affairs. He abused cocaine and alcohol. He had depression and first stages of Parkinson’s Disease which contributed to his deepening depression in the weeks before his suicide. Would you rather have him suffer everyday. Lord knows what meds they had him on.

Many people suffer far worse and fight everyday. Who cares where his children came from, they still love their father. Just a selfish and cowardly act. Took the easy way out and pushed that suffering on to his family.

think about all the children that lost their parent(s) at a young age. Not only are all his children grown but they all have trust funds and multiple parents.

Not everyone reacts the same to the same problems......a problem.RW had could seem easy for me to get over compared to him.

Add into the mix all the antidepressants he was on (which can make suicide an easier decision) & any other substance like coke & alcohol, & you have a destructive personality.

With some people that are so depressed, its like a fog in front of them & they can't see past the depression & everything seems like its a negative in their life, they don't see the positive side of life if they can just hang on & fight a bit more.

Its mentally daunting & they get to a point where they believe they are better off dead, which we all know is wrong.

These people that are so depressed & have all these meds going thru their bodies don't just get up one morning & decide to off themselves......they sot & think what's good/bad in their lives & can it get better......once they come to the conclusion everything is going bad, well, it doesn't end well.......

Regarding his children not being the same, yes it does.

Sigh. Find me one person who had a parent kill themselves while the person was a child, who says that it didn't have a profound devastating effect on their life.

What a really stupid position you are taking.

Yea, it's devastating for children to lose a parent. That's why it's a selfish act. It's even harder for parents when their child kills them self. Some never recover. Very selfish thing to do to your loved ones.

Two close friends of mine. Both of their father committed suicide. Both have turned out to be outstanding fathers and husbands.

Your statement is too broad. I would agree with you the majority would have difficulty, but you can't paint everyone with a broad brush.

If you aren't available 24/7 to receive calls from a friend or family member that is suicidal daily, then you're selfish. You up for that, or would you let it go to voicemail during Monday Night Football?
