The LA/Boston line has moved up to 217.5...because I like the over so much I am making an additional 1 star bet on the over even though it is less favorable odds...and I'm upping the Spurs to a 3 star selections...

I, like the public, am taking 3 OKC -12(-120)...OKC needs to start winning now because, obviously, the West is stacked with playoff caliber teams. From a pure talent stand point this one heavily favors OKC. Philly got their 1st win. Last night was the most motivated I've seen them all season, I think getting that one win to avoid historic incompetence is huge for them. I don't think Philly shows up with that same "must win" mentality they showed last night, conversely, OKC has got to be hungry for wins. Taking a 12 point Away favorite is risky but OKC is too talented and motivated....3 LA/Boston o 216 1 LA/Boston o 217(-117)...LA's defense is terrible and Brad Steven has been emphasizing offense for Boston. Boston can make it rain 3's and the Lakers have shown they are capable at putting up points. I expect a bounce back game from Lin after shooting so poorly last night. I expect Jordan Hill to be good on the offensive boards earning 2nd chance shots for LA. Nick Young will be get his chance to put up shots, which may or may not be a good thing. 3 Spurs +1....the Spurs are coming off a loss. Pop was LIVID at Danny Green for him intentionally fouling towards the end of OT and Pop criticized all his starters and was as frustrated as I've seen him all season. The Spurs have won 8 in a row vs Memphis which makes me a little hesitant to take them but Gasol may not be 100% and I can't imagine the Spurs not bringing their "A" game...

Adding to the list

1
Jazz -5(-118)

I think the Jazz might be a little better than their record indicates...they have gotten beaten at home by good teams but against a poor team missing Vucevic? I'll go with the team with the home court edge -5

The Lakers were averaging 110 per game against East opponents. The Lakers were last in opponent scoring allowing 111.1 ppg and allowing opponents to shoot 47.9% against them. Boston was allowing the third-most points (107.3) and fifth-highest field goal percentage (46.6%) in the league. The Lakers/Celtics "over"...I'm 100% sure I would do this bet over again and feel good about it (assuming I didn't know the outcome). I would take that over every single time sometimes a team just doesn't t shoot well but I did make my stupidest mistake of the season. I'm OK with losing picks but not by the way I balanced this over bet out...putting 4 total on the two teams over and 1 on the Celtics over. I've taken the Boston team over a couple times this season because they can make it rain threes, Brad Stevens wants to turn them into a Spurs style offense taking mainly 3's and layups and he hasn't emphasized defense yet...add to that the fact that they were at home... I knew this could have happened and its the reason I bet on the Celtics over110 in the first place. The way I handled this one was idiotic, 9/10 times I would split it 3 LA/Boston over and 2 Boston over. I deserved to lose that one. I mismanaged it in the most elementary of ways and I'm an idiot.

Misses: 3 Lakers/Boston over, 1 Lakers/Boston over, 1 teaser Nets/Mavs

Win: 3 Spurs +1 1 Boston over 110

Push: 3 OKC -12

Tomorrow's pick:

I'm taking 3 Suns o 103.5 and 1 Suns o 104 as they go up against the #3 scoring defense in the league giving up only 94 ppg...I really think Houston is going to struggle guarding both Dragic and Bledsoe two athletic guards that have a knack for getting in the lane. Jason Terry and James Harden will presumably play big minutes because of lack of depth at the guard positions, and they will be on the court together most of the night. Harden hasn't been terrible defensively this year but he hasn't had to work as hard as he will will have to tonight to slow down Dragic. I'm skeptical as to whether Harden will show the lateral quickness needed to keep up with the Sun's top two guards. And then you have Jason Terry...moving on. Add an athletic wing like Gerald Green to give Ariza all he can handle. Tarik Black isn't a rim protector. I think the Suns put up some points tonight.

2 Houston pk

Well I thought Patrick Beverly was sure to return tonight and possibly Canaan. I don't feel great about this one...

So for tonight I'm taking:

3
Suns o 103.5
1
Suns o 104

2
GS/Bulls o 200.5

2 Rockets pk

1 Spurs -13
Pop probably sits Duncan for this one but the Spurs depth is solid and Pop still expects smart and efficient play from his 2nd unit. Given how mad Pop was about the Nets game a couple nights ago the players should be focused. The Spurs will bring energy to their first home game since their 4 consecutive away games across the country.

1 Pistons/76ers u 195

1 Bulls +3.5(-117)

After tonight's slate of games I'm going to move to a unit system because I want to be able to recommend more bets that have value but are long shots. This will also make it easier to see the financial results of the bets because as it stands right now that isn't clear to everyone...
