Aldridge is almost definitely out...Portland is 5-1 at home....Brooklyn is playing their 3rd game in 4 nights. Chris Kaman has been outstanding for Portland. Robin Lopez should match up well against Brook. Damian Lillard has come into the year inspired after being cut by team USA, he's at the top of his game. The Blazers have adapted to life without Nicholas Batum. I doubt Portland drops this game, they wont overlook Brooklyn now that they aren't at full strength, they must feel at least a little vulnerable without MVP candidate Lamarcus Aldridge on the court. I think they will be ok without Aldridge partly because bench players, generally, play well at home. These guys will have played together without Lamarcus on the floor because of the way they handle their substitutions, Terry Stotts will slowly reinsert his starters back into the game one by one so it shouldn't be a devastating loss not to have Aldridge, as great as he is.

OKC vs Houston
I like the under....even though OKC is going to play better against Houston...OKC is coming off an OT home loss to Detroit where their bench shot 5/25 from the field 3/14 from three and 0/1 from the foul line, its really really unlikely their bench will be that poor for Houston. Houston is number 1 in points allowed (91.6 points allowed per game), Dwight Howard plays a large part in that. OKC has been content with not going to the basket and shooting jumpers, I don't know if that's good or bad for this game....their offense wont suffer as much (I know I'm really going out on a limb here) going against Dwight Howard. Perry Jones is expected to be out. Patrick Beverly is expected to return, hopefully he brings his defense and his offense isn't as in sync with the rest of his teammate's. This is another one of Harden's home comings. he will come to play. OKC's bench play is significantly better at home except for Telfair, he's not good no matter where he plays according to his home/away numbers. There is a chance these guys get out and run, its significant enough not to go big on this game's under...I'm waiting for the over/under for each quarter before committing to a bet...

1 Lakers +8.5(-105)
Golden State games have hit the under pretty frequently this year because of their defense. The Lakers are coming off a disappointing game against San Antonio in which they struggled to score. I think the Lakers offense shows up tonight and Golden State play its inferior road defense. Golden State has been amazing on offense but I expect the Lakers offense to bounce back. Golden State is arguably the most impressive team in the NBA this year so I'm playing this one conservatively only making it a 1 star selection

The Spurs are the better team right now, they have shown they can play great defense....they are coming of a game against the 76ers where Leonard, Parker, Duncan, and Ginobli all played 20 minutes or less. The thing to be wary of is Pop can live with regular season losses, last year they went 0-4 against OKC but he wasn't worried. This game matters waaaaaaaay more to Cleveland than it does for San Antonio....still the Cavs offense gets stagnant easily and they can't play defense and watching San Antonio's defense of late I think overall the Spurs are a lot better right now. But it is a home game for Lebron against the team that steamrolled him in the finals....have to be cautious with this one. I'm going to see the quarter/half numbers tomorrow and may come back to make an additional bet.

2 Toronto -2(-120)
Toronto is coming off 2 days rest...their game beore last they lost at home to the bulls, Chicago is a really good team there is no shame losing at home to them but because of the recent home loss I expect them to be focused from the opening tip. Memphis is coming off a very impressive home win against Houston this could be a possible let down spot for them. They are going to Toronto to play an out of conference game after just beating one of the best teams. Memphis goes home right after this game to face the Celtics 11/21 and then their schedu;e goes like this: Clippers, Lakers, Trailblazers, Kings, Rockets, Spurs, Heat, Mavs....extremely tough stretch and 7/8 of them are conference games.

Based on how they've played I should be all over the Magic getting 5 at home against a Clippers team stuck in a funk. The catch is Orlando has played 11/11, 11/12, 11/14, 11/15, and 11/17...they had today off but LA should be the much more well rested team that can't afford to be taking opponents for granted...I like a play on the 1st quarter or 1st half, the numbers aren't out yet but I'll be waiting for them.

The Rockets offense has been bad of late but one thing might get them back on track tonight, and that is a nationally televised home game against the Lakers' lousy defense.
I'm taking the Celtics/76ers over 209 because both teams have trouble scoring against good defenses but both teams like offense a lot more than they like defense so two bad defenses going against each other should equal a lot of points....I'm taking the Clippers over 104 because they have faced tough defenses recently and it has hurt their ppg, they are capable of putting up a lot of points against so-so defenses...Bucks +7 because Kidd going back to Brooklyn means much more to him and his players wanting to get a W for him against his former team..

Glad to have another winning day. Most importantly though is that the multiple star selections all cashed in, those are the ones I obviously risk more on so it feels a little bit better to hit on the higher star selections.
