I'm not the only one at all saying this. And I do have a heart. I believe in second chances and think Rice and his wife can deal with this as a family rather than making this a public stunt to destroy the rest of his life. Shit happens, people make mistakes, especially when wasted. Just saying he was already punished for knocking her out. Now Goodell is punishing him again because the video of the incident he already suspended him for came out just because public pressure put him on the hot seat.

exactly because once people saw the video they understood 2 games is fucking joke. Even Goodell admitted he screwed up. He should be in jail and it should ruin the rest of his life. He is Scum!!!!

too late to save his career. Earning power GONE. Thank god the video came out so we fully know he got what he deserved.

GROWING UP

<big>Raymell Maurice Rice was born on January 22, 1987 in New Rochelle, New York. Raymell—or Ray for short—was the youngest of four kids. His mother, Janet, taught special needs children.

Ray never knew his father, Calvin Reed. In 1988, he was gunned down in a drive-by shooting. Ray’s cousin, MyShaun, stepped in to provide male guidance when needed. But Myshaun was killed by a drunk driver when Ray was 10. At that point, Ray figured he’d better learn how to take care of himself.

He will get a second chance. If Vick can get one, Ray will to.

All he needs is an Oprah interview and a year off and he will be fine.

It matters a lot. If she gets knocked out falling and hitting a rail, that's more of an accidental knock out rather than getting knocked out from a punch.

And, if she hit said rail, cracked her skull, went into a coma and eventually died, you think that a jury still wouldn't come back with manslaughter or worse????

I'm not defending him. I'm just saying he was already punished for knocking his fiancee out. Not sure why this video changes things other than the NFL trying to protect their own ass because of public pressure. And the second thing was I thought the video was far less severe than I imagined. Two drunk people, one stupid decision, his fiancee didn't press any charges and has admitted that it was a bad situation by both of them.

I just don't get how he can be punished twice for someone he already admitted to doing. I mean I get why he can, because the Goodell is protecting his own ass, but I wonder what people think happens when someone gets knocked out. Like what did you imagine happened in the elevator?

I don't know what exactly he told the Ravens and/or the league, but I'd be willing to bet it was quite different from what that video showed, so, he got popped for lying-as so often is the case, the cover up can be as bad, or worse than the crime. Remember, they both were charged, initially, but I'm inclined to believe he told her to say she hit him first, or else it would be hard to maintain the lifestyle to which she had grown accustomed if the truth came out(and, who knows, that might have had something to do with the speed with which they were married after the incident). Men who women are scum, but if she's flailing at him and his arms come up in self defense, knocking her out(and HERE your accidental head-hitting-a-rail could come into play, not with a backhanded slap), that's a whole different kettle of fish.

Both parties get what they deserve. Both fucked up, and deserve each other.

Just like any addiction, wake the fuck up and do something about it. Or keep getting drunk, abused, high, or whatever.....

He threw a punch. Everyone knew he knocked her out. What more could he have said. Now if he was beating her senselessly on the floor I would say he should rot in jail. But they were fighting, he threw a punch, she was knocked out. Probably will regret that split second decision the rest of his life. The video really is not as bad as I thought it would be.

I can see being suspended for a few games or a season...anything above that is overkill.

"Destroy the rest of his life?"

He just signed a $35M contract and has collected $24M of it already. You need to stay away from hyperbole.

Nah, dafinch is on my JDeuce list. The stuff he said to MP was some of the sickest stuff I've heard on this site.

Actually, I was arguing with two people, and the usual suspects, like yourself come in to troll me and destroy the thread.

You're entitled to your opinion, but I don't give a shit about it. And I'm entitled to my opinion here, and you're making a fool of yourself, as several people have pointed out(since you're so big on pointing out what the consensus opinion is when it suits your purposes).
