I was at a small party Friday with my liberal friends and they turned the game on with no sound. From 8:45 until 9 all they were showing was black lives murder propaganda so I disagree.

I didn't watch too much last night cause football was on, but I mostly just see vote, vote, vote endlessly now. Although I make it a point not to watch pre-game or halftime, but that isn't because of activism or anything though. I've just never found interest in that.

Game 2 was on a Friday night.

Ratings may have been down from the prior year but it was the HIGHEST rated show of the night

It would have been interesting to see what the ratings would have been Boston Vs LA in this climate .

I can’t imagine a more higher rated matchup between any other 2 teams.

Not that LA vs Miami is terrible or maybe it is who knows

Its not just the BLM stuff.....as said on here before......most people who watch sports don't want politics intermingled with it. Nobody gives 2 shits what an athletes opinion is. Just get out there and play the game.....after all thats why people are watching

those goalposts moved so quickly it gave me vertigo.

so instead of comparing how game 2 of the NBA finals did to any of the previous 40 seasons you're checking out how it did up against Undercover Boss reruns :)

Its not like tv is any better in the first week or 2 in june.

Plus NBA finals on ABC games are played on Tuesday, thursday, and Sunday

Thursday and Sundays are the 2 biggest nights of tv watching.

Curious to see last nite's ratings and if it was the highest rated show of the nite.

My prediction- low ratings but highest rated show of nite

LOL, Adam Silver in full backpedal mode after seeing the tv ratings...says social justice messaging will not be a part of their game for the 20/21 season including messages both on the court and on player's jerseys

I guess beating Undercover Boss reruns wasn't good enough for the advertisers paying a few hundred grand per minute :)

Adam Silver: We’re completely committed to standing for social justice and racial equality and that’s been the case going back decades. It’s part of the DNA of this league. How it gets manifested is something we’re gonna have to sit down with the players and discuss for next season. I would say, in terms of the messages you see on the court and our jerseys, this was an extraordinary moment in time when we began these discussions with the players and what we all lived through this summer. My sense is there’ll be somewhat a return to normalcy, that those messages will largely be left to be delivered off the floor.

The social justice on the uniforms and the courts was a way for the players to agree to come to the bubble for 3-4 months.

If players are playing in their home arenas, we're not going to have any of the social justice messages. Not sure if the season ticket holders paying 25k a year per ticket really wants to see that.

The NBA has actually considered doing 3 bubbles next year in Orlando, Vegas and somewhere else but they dont think the players are going to go for it. Also thought about moving the season from April- October but they dont think the players go for it either

The "players".

How about if we suspend the NBA for a few years so "the players" can go out and help police the communities that want to defund the police.

How do such idiots get a voice in America that counts more than anyone else's voice?

Laura Ingram got a lot of shit for saying it, but I concur.

"Shut up and dribble."

My friend works in advertising - he said the consensus is this is all on BLM and the political stance of the NBA - I've watched some of the games and I just think they suck without fans - without going to opposing arenas
