Music has three equal elements:

melody, harmony and rhythm.

Rap has only rhythm. It is not music.

Rock & roll passes this test, Rap does not.

its music, you either like it or listen to somebody else.

alot of you guys are the same people who blamed columbine on marilyn manson because thats what the kids listened to. how about looking in the mirror and actually spending time with your kids instead of dressing like sluts at halloween parties and letting kids get drunk in your home because it'd be bad if they went out and drink.

parents are non existant these days.

Also, I think this thread proves what age group dominates this forum.

Even the political forum.

george j, you should spend as much time worrying about your kids then you do worrying about rap and its consequences.

GTC mentioned Lil Wayne. And that tells me what I really want to say in this thread. I've been a DJ for 25 years. I've played it all. I saw The Sugarhill Gang Live LOL!

But for me it's all about the melody of a song. Either I feel it or I don't.

On Lil Wayne's CD I can't stand Lollipop or A-Milli. But I think Mrs. Officer and Comfortable are great tracks. I guess the R&B flow is what appeals to me. Same deal with Jay-Z. Can't stand Dirt Off Your Shoulder. But Change Clothes or Excuse Me Miss will get me out on da flo!
