oh calm down random...nobody cares if you are in love with 50 cent.

youll live just fine whether or not some people dont like rap.

50 years ago rock n roll was relatively just as outrageous and people bitched and whined about it.

This is exactly what i am trying to explain to this fool. He read some dictionary description of music, combined it with the little crap he learned while playing the piano now he thinks his narrow minded description of music are finite and that all those who appreciate music that falls outside his obtuse parameters dont know what is music to them!!

HOw friggin ignorant, how friggin arrogant and i may add, typical condenscending b/s racist crap from an ignorant fool!!

If a man appreciates the sounds of the digeradoo, or xylophone or African drums, snares, piano, or just the millions of variations of human sound, they have the right to appreciate that music for what it is without some pompous windbag coming along to tell him...Ohhh that is garbage!!

What a douche bag!!!

I bet this pompous gas bag is pissed off because kids these days dont wanna listen to some boring fart playing piano in a club!!!

Keep up the ad hominem attacks, because they really help
your argument. Nice usage of the racist slur, because I'm a
racist right? ROFL, You forgot to call me a Nazi too.

Keep up the straw-man attacks too, which are basically lies on
your part. I never said rap is garbage, but while calling me
a pompous windbag, you lie and say I said it was garbage.

You need to get an education and learn how to construct a logical
argument.

Oh, and by the way, I don't sit and play piano in a club. You
don't know me, you know virtually nothing about me.

We will have to agree to disagree on how to classify rap.

Have a nice day.

this thread is full of racists close minded old people. you guys won't stand the test of time. you'll be dead and the generation that enjoy confident fast hip hop.
My dislike of rap music has nothing to do with racism. I can understand why you like it if you grew up with it...I just believe it should be a genre into itself. Not in the music category with pop and rock.

Your right, I am an old fart..But I still know good music when I hear it...And I know that some great music was released from the 60's to the 80's..But good catchy pop/rock music pretty much dried up after the 80's and now pretty much hit and miss...With much more miss..So it's just not rap, it's all music. The 90's generation to present is just a much different type of generation. Much more fast paced than my generation..Most young kids in today's world have a very short attention span and can't sit still for two seconds..That's why you don't have nearly the great musicians today that we had back in the 70's. They don't take time to learn their instruments..And it shows in their music. Most of the music I hear on the radio now is the post-punk stuff done by bands who can barely play, and most can't sing worth a damn.

In my day the records companies looked for the next great musician/singer/songwriter...Today they're just looking for someone under 21 who has some kind of hook that makes them sound or look different. It doesn't necessarily have anything to do with having real musicial talent. So much of the music now is computerized and prefabricated. Record executives no longer care how well a kid can play guitar. They just want that hit song. And half of the bands nowadays are one or two hit wonders and then disappear out of site. It's just the way this generation is..They all seem to be satisfied with it, because that's all they grew up hearing...But it's way inferior to the music that came before it. And this isn't up for debate.

There are a few diamonds in the rough out there...My Morning Jacket and Los Lonely Boys are great bands by today's standards..Both of these bands have some great musicians and singers...And they both remind me of some of the bands of the 70's...And there are a few really good singer/songwriters I like..But most aren't mainstream like Todd Snider and especially Ray Lamontagne, who may be the best out there..He reminds me a little of Van Morrison. And that's pretty high standards..

No you dont get to do this bozo!!! Trying to make yourself out to be some victim when in truth your ignorance has just been exposed.

Every single bigot or racist ideal is pretty much rooted in the idea that, that everything that differs from the norm, or your ideals is inferior and thus classifiable as garbage. Go back to your history book and you will find this consistent with kkk, Nazis. slavers, colonialists, religious fanatics etc etc.

They all used the same b/s tactics your high falootin piano playing, classic music educated dumbass uses to categorize cultures you dont understand and try to cast them in a bogus light.

I called you out 100% correctly. And there is no argument for me here.

I am right and you are friggin wrong. Americans have spoken loudly in the past decades and accepted Rap music, and have made it soar to top billing in the USA right now. Get over it, try and improve on your shitty classical music (and your elitist attitude) then perharps more kids may be turned on to your crap!!

Nope. You are wrong again, and you don't even know how to present
a logical argument. You know nothing about me, and you again
resort to childish name-calling, swearing and straw-man arguments.

By the way, I haven't performed classical music in years. I'm mostly
involved in blues and jazz.

Oh, and by the way you can look up the roots to jazz and blues and
try calling me a racist again.

Run along now idiot.

I believe that rap music is gooder than most of the music out today except for country music. The rap music people got that jack going on and the country music dudes eat apple pie and love their country except for the Dixie Chicks who have a hair across their ass.

This is my take on this here issue.

For all the people that try and say the rap music and crime are a team, all crime came waaaaaaay before rap music was even thought of. it's not like rap music invented some new form of crime so you can't just blame rap music.

The basic instructions before leaving earth (3x)

Chorus: repeat 2x

Life is a test many quest the universe
And through my research, I felt the joy and the hurt
The first shall be last and the last shall be first
The basic instructions before leaving earth

Verse one:

Knowledge this wisdom, this goes back when I was twelve
I loved doing right but I was trapped in hell
Had mad ideas, sad eyes and tears
Years of fears, but yo my foes couldn't bear
I searched for the truth since my youth
And went to church since birth, but it wasn't worth the loot
That I was paying, plus the praying
I didn't like staying 'cause of busy-bodies and dizzy hotties
That the preacher had souped up with lies
Had me cooped up lookin at loot, butt, and thighs
Durin the service, he swallowed up the poor
And after they heard this, they wallowed on the floor
But I ignored, and explored my history that was untold
And watched mysteries unfold
And dropped a jewel like solomon, but never followed men
Cause if you do your brain is more hollow than
Space oblivia, or the abyss
With no trace of trivia, left with the hiss
Does it pay to be deaf, dumb and blind?
From a slave we was kept from the mind
And from the caves he crept from behind
And what he gave, was the sect of the swine
When the bible, it condemned the pig
I don't mean to pull your hems or flip your wigs
But we used to wear a turban, but now we're in the urban
No more wearing beanies and dress like a genie
No hocus pocus cause I focus on the facts
And put it on the tracks and brought it through the wax
I speak on jacob, it might take up some time
And too much knowledge, it might break up the ryhme
I did it anyway just to wake up the mind
Of those who kiss stones or prays on the carpet
Those who sit home, or sell books by the market
Need to chill and get their mind revived
For years religion did nothing but divide
The basic instructions before leaving earth

Chorus

Verse two:

I strolled through the books of job to unfold
And open bibles, instead of hoping on revivals
Calling on his name and screaming hallelujah
When he hardly knew ya, that's how the devil's fooled ya
See look into my eyes brethren, that's the lies of a reverend
Why should you die to go to heaven?
The earth is already in space, the Bible I embrace
A difficult task I had to take
I studied till my eyes was swollen, and only arose when
I found out that we were the chosen
I deal with the truth, and build with the youth
And teach my son as he kneels on the stoop
Son, life is a pool of sin, corrupted wth foolish men
And women with wicked minds, who build picket signs
To legalize abortion, the evil eye distortion
I quiz son with my wisdom
Before I converted, I was perverted, and knowledge was asserted
The study of wisdom, I perferred it
The understanding, it gave me mental freedom
I even learnt caucasians were really the tribe of edam
The white image, of christ, is really cesare borgia
And uhh, the second son of pope alexander
The sixth of rome, and once the picture was shown
That's how the devils tricked my dome
I prophesized to save a man, but no one gave a damn
For my nation - the seed of abraham
Blessed with the tongue of hebrew
Now we're strung on needles, and some are plungin evils
So study and be wise in these days of darkness
Peace to my nephew marcus

Stupid comment by a stupid person. I hate the fact that people associate dress trends with all hip-hop and rap. Where does this come from. Most respectable rap and hip-hop artist dont dress like that. Also remember the pants thing isnt a culture thing its an age thing.

Why are these artists respectable with the vicious lyrics. Where are these guys respectable.

Rap sucks, the rap " Dress Code " sucks, the pants around the knees sucks.......The twisted cap sucks, the underwear hanging out sucks,

Oh by the way, Hussein Obama Sucks too :nohead:
