She's only 26 and still young and developing. Needs to toughen up and be more professional. That was weak and certainly didn't agree with her on Blake. It is because of those reasons ESPN won't simultaneously drop Nichols and Taylor and ascend Malika in her role with the network.

Malika was the one crying on the air after George Floyd in reporting the NBA was shutting down. The bottom line here is that the coach's interview at the beginning of the second and fourth quarter only takes away from live action and the sideline reporter, in any sport, is relatively useless other than a springboard for the girls. It is the equivalent to the Pharmacy rep visiting doctors.

Rachel had hosting the NBA show in her contract. She will soon be very, very rich and probably on TNT.

I have never heard a coach say anything important in those interviews. They are a total waste of time plus they reduce the screen size of the action on the court and it's hard to see. Sideline reporters are only good for injury updates. No one cares to listen to the features on the players. The play by play and analyst can tell those same stories during stoppages. When the 76ers dumped their sideline reporter Serena Winters I was never happier. She was a total distraction. For the most part they regurgitate quotes from players and coaches.

Which is a lot more important, certainly to Nichols.

And all this happened last year around the George Floyd situation/ racial rioting/looting.

I truly believe that Rachel is most likely correct in her assessment that it was a knee jerk reaction by ESPN to do some diversity

And most likely Taylor and her team was sitting on the recording for close to year and Taylor chose to act outraged around contract negotiating time.

It would be so much easier to feel their pain, if they didnt try use these kinda things to their advantage
