Question for Players and Sportsbook Owners About Getting The Runaround

Dru,

Your situation is complicated because it is not just a player vs. a book. If it were, your case would be like any sharp who gets dealt a dual line, uses it to his advantage and then gets booted. I think dual lines are pure filth ethically. It's like having separate price tags for blacks or something like that.

But since you represent a competitor, Rio will naturally not be as friendly to you as they would be to a regular customer. There may have been some confusion as to whether your bet was on official business or for recreational purposes. You say it was the latter and I have no reason to doubt you, but I can also see why Rio might not believe you. Some companies forbid their employees with doing business with competitors in other industries, so it's understandable that there be some friction because of that.

I wouldn't get too worked up about it. Just take it as a sign that you know what you are doing and be glad it's not the other way around ie. that everyone is always nice to you because you are an idiot -- that would be a horrible fate indeed.

The facts are as follows:
Dru got beat to the play by a mover on Pepsi's sheet by over 20 seconds- it is funny that it was Dru's personal play but he got beat to it... Regardles, the play got called out incorrectly, and moved incorreclty (is that a wet move?)- so should we eat our mistakes- YES! 100% as a rule... BUT not with Dru. He shoved an over limit play on total season wins up our asses on Atlanta under right when Vick got injured. Once he, or anyone, wants to test our generosity, the rules will change.

Our linesmaker, or follower as Dru likes to call him, has been doing this since the early 80s and has never worked for a place that has gone under or needed to look for new investors to pay off low season debts. Feel free to attack his methods and ways, but atleast next year we will pay all our customers without having to get someone to bail us out.

The bottomline is the bottomline... its how much you win, not how cute your numbers are

Someone kick my ass. I'm over playing 300 questions with Fat Frank and missing this action. Geez...

Two of my favorite books so I can't comment either way but lots of fun.

Pat the whole thing is no big deal. It is a private beef between Dru at Cascade and Doc at RIO. Nothing new.

Here is what happened with the future and once again, tell me if I am wrong. I call up and ask for the total season wins on the Falcons, Clerk reads me the line, I bet, I then ask what the new line is, they tell me they dont want anymore, I say thanks for the bet and make sure you take the game down because Vick is injured. They were told about the injury before I hungup. I didn't go around and sign up accounts or tell my friends about it. I bet, and told them about it. What else can they want. Make sure when you post, post the truth.

Dru:

I guess you guys won't be eating dinner together tonight.

Advise to all concerned:

We all live in glass houses, to some degree, and always know your shit before you talk your shit.

Ok, so you're into steam and injury plays. Do you phone in when they have a bad line too?

You repabate, how R ya? Sorry about the Bills getting a raw deal from the Zebras yesterday. Hang in there it will be a long season. I do believe the Pats will not be able to overcome the rash of injuries that has crippled their D. So with trepadation I will root for the Bills in the AFC East just to help out.

Your old Pal, Wilheim.

You know what I agree with Dru 100%. I am so sick and tired of this Rio fvcking with me too.

I just called for a h/t and they put me on hold like they do every single time I called only this time it was even for a longer period of time and the line actually changed twice while I was on the phone.

My question to them is why??? Do I bet steam into you guys? Have I made a wager in the last year or so since the new line guy has been there where the line went my way??

I asked to speak with the line manager and he said to call back at the end of the ht which I understand but said "will he defitely be there"? and I did and of course he told them "tell him I am not here"

I thought it was bad when Lori was there booking bets sheesh!! At least she didn't have to change her drawers each time I called.

You set yourself up for beards that is exactly what you guys do. So now guys get pissed, close there accounts, re-send money under someone else's name, get a bonus, and get the lines read to them when they call.

I made a post a few months back and said Rio moves on air sometimes like a lot of books and I think the lineguy told every living employee at Rio that I said that on the forums.

Very hard post to make since I know Dave and Roy but facts are facts and business is business.

krack, were you playing an amount that required a call?

Regardless, that's total bullshit-especially given the time sensitive nature of HT #'s.

Forgot about that part....

Obviously overwhelmed by the HT phone volume with no web site, but still no excuse.

Get the entire staff in there & have phone manned.

I got a question. Can I do book-to-book transfers between Rio and Cascade or is this a serious feud?
