I am not a conspiracy theorist and don't think games are fixed but the NFL has to want Peyton Manning in the Super Bowl. It would be his final game of his career and the storyline is he passes the torch to Newton and the Panthers. If Brady is in the Super Bowl everyone will be talking about how they cheated last year....From the NFLs perspective and for promotion in a billion dollar game I think they will want the Manning story.

But why does it matter who the NFL wants?

Do y'all ever use the eye test? Like actually watching how a team performed? Not being rude just wondering.

Because what I saw was New England basically have their way with a ROLLING KC defense. Not to mention completely shut down their offense which is just run of the mill.

Next we have an obviously shell of himself QB who even in his prime couldn't perform well in the playoffs. His head coach is Gary Fucking Kubiak who couldnt coach his way out of a wet paper bag and has been OWNED by BB his entire coaching career. Also, Pittsburgh minus their best 3 offensive weapons and with a hurt QB absolutely shouldve won last weeks game by 21 points. they had 5 plays over 50 yards and scored 13 points? Wade Phillips will get exposed by Josh McDaniels, watch how many times he gets Gronk and James White (is that their RB's name?) in 1on1 situations with LB's.

It's this simple:

NE Offense>Denver Defense
NE Defense>Denver Offense
Brady>Manning
Bellichick>Kubiak
McDaniels>Phillips

This one may get lopsided.

do you ever use the square test?

so you are telling me that the "better" team is going to cover? im sure your book loves you.

lets see where you are after the game

Kid31, If the NFL wants the Broncos and Manning in the Super Bowl then it could be communicated to the officials to shade the game slightly towards them. Similarly they could call some cheap pass interference calls against Brady. It only takes one or two calls to make a huge difference. I'm not suggesting "a fix" but just a little wink wink.

to feed into this Look at who the referee is for the game Ed Hochull Denver is 7-0 when he refs and the Pats are 3-4. At the very least you have to admit he favors the way Denver plays (picks) to the way New England plays.

My money is on Denver great Defense at home getting points. All this coming from a Pats fan.

And the ref Blakeman for the SB also. No way Roger wants to be in the same house as NE and no way they use Blakeman if NE is going to be there.

Pats didnt have Collins and Hightower on Def either. Both are now healthy

Collins suffered on oblique strain vs KC and didn't see another snap. He was limited in walk through wednesday. News from thursday is limited aslo.
Oblique strains are a bitch and don't heal fast. Not something you just bounce back from. I'd be surprised if Collins gets a normal workload this weekend.

ok let's see now....if the pats are -3 at Denver, then they are saying -6 on neutral field, and -9 at new England...???

I would never think they would be -9 at home against Denver... is this line way off for a reason and i get the balance for the bets but they are getting 70% pats $$???

Do Vegas handicappers really think pats are that much better???

Isn't there value on Denver??

I'm pretty set on playing cardinals but this game has me thinking.. i like the broncos at first site, but line has me puzzled a bit...

thoughts / comments.. all are welcome

Isn't that 3 pts for the home team just a general perception?

The above is How Kubiak did vs. Bellichick straight up as head coach of the Texans, the only game they won was a meaningless week 17 game where the Texans took out Welker. Also, the last 3 were when Phillips was the defensive coordinator. 42, 41, and 34 were the points scored. So whoever said that Brady was 2-5 against Wade Phillips is full of shit, i watched these games myself, he got absolutely schooled by Brady, it was goddamn frustrating to watch.

So for Dexter03 i will sit back and watch, and you guys go ahead and hitch your wagons to one of the most vanilla do nothing coaching staffs in the NFL with a shell of himself QB.

Per ESPN:

In his career against Brady as a head coach or defensive coordinator, Phillips is 2-5. Not be a good number in most circles, but against Brady it's not bad.

Pats didnt have any trouble scoring when they played against Denver earlier. That was without Edeleman and Amendola. All they had was Gronk. Manning has thrown one TD this whole season at home. Brady has actually thrown more TDs in Denver than Manning has 3-1

And yet they STILL lost to Denver. With Brock O as QB. Go figure.

The 12 and 13 Texans were very good and especially with defensive personnel. My point was that these two coordinators Kubiak and Phillips have a history of being outclassed in big games against the Patriots. in 2012 they were 12-1 at the time they played that week 14 game, they went into that game and looked like they were playing checkers vs. chess. Same thing happened in the playoffs that same year, Kubiak didn't learn his lesson and got fucking smoked, came out with the same gameplan, it was pathetic.

And i stand corrected i thought you said Brady was 2-5 not Phillips, i believe that Phillips was 2-5 against Brady.

If Phillips doesnt adjust his scheme the RB's and TE's will get 1on1 matchups and absolutely torch Denver, mark my words.

Yeah Brock is the better QB, and the Pats lost after losing Gronk, and Edelman, Amendola, Lewis, Collins, Hightower
I am glad Peyton the duck throwing QB is playing over Brock. Brock can at least throw the deep ball and stretch the field. Manning threw one TD at home in seven home games...lol. Can not wait for Sunday

I am just pointing out in 7 games at home this season Manning has thrown 1 TD.

this is very alarming and funny. also kind of sad if you bet $$ on denver as well and expect anything but losing

you know what i find funny. is people saying the NE crushed a KC team that was decimated on the defensive side. they emphasis this point like it was huge deal in the outcome or the main reason NE put up points. the funny part about this is that the several who say and re-use this almost never saw it coming going into the game. you didn't see any many strong sided, advantaged capping angles with this in mind before the ne/kc game.

only after the game did you see it, and to use it as a knock against the team in question which is NE....i find this very funny..i find it funny because not only did they not know before the last game, they're going against the team because of it the 2nd time around...even after a win and crush..

lol

I expect it to be a really good game. Regardless of if Manning is on point or not, their defense will come to play and they will fight. I'm on Patriots but it wasn't a slam dunk in your face bet. I handicapped this about a point higher than the spread in favor of NE so the line is probably set right. The oddsmakers tend to get things right in the playoffs when they only have one or two games to set odds for all week long. With that said, I think Denver backers will see a much different game with Gronk/Edelman/Amendola all healthy compared to last game. When all three of those guys are in it's a synergistic effect. On any other team Edelman might be worth a point but when you combine him with Tom Brady, you get chemistry going that makes him more valuable than a point. Same goes for Amendola. If I were a Denver backer I wouldn't exactly be thrilled to see all three of them in if you've watched any of NE's game this year when they are all healthy. I think it will be a dog fight for both teams.

People can say what they want about NE/KC, but I wouldn't be very happy with Denver's last showing. You are talking about losing through most of the game to a team that has a 50% quarterback and both of their big play makers (antonion brown, Le'veon Bell) out. I expected it to be a stomp and it wasn't. Call it a bad match-up or whatever vs. PITT but to me it looked like Denver playing bad, not the Steelers playing good.
