Their was no narrative at first. What came out was a 10 second video clip of two white people murdering a black guy running by.
That’s what the video initially showed. No matter how you look at it, that’s what happened. Now, if we were to not report that/show that video because we wanted to garner more facts about the situation....that doesn’t sound like something the media would do, now does it?
There certainly was a narrative. Using a photo of the young man as a high school graduate from seven years earlier, the media tried to portray him as an innocent jogger out for his afternoon exercise and we now know, that isn’t the case.
That doesn’t mean he should be dead either. The driver needs to be held accountable here.
This was not the case of a black man murdered. He had a lot to do with his own death and the more facts that come out make this look like there is some justification. He was not out for a jog. He was casing a house to potentially rob. This is a clean cut kid never in trouble. He was not hunted by anyone. Wait for all of the facts.
Why do you guys always compare things that couldn’t be more different? Johnnydouche even referenced James Byrd in this thread. WTF? This case and the case of James Byrd couldn’t be further from one another.
