The reason I am passionate about this is not because I want to appear superior to people with opposite views. I speak out because I would want the same done for me if people were oppressing me with radical views, imposing unfair legislation against my way of life, and creating a widespread "us against them" mentality. I would like to think I would have spoken up for blacks prior to the Civil War, and I have a vendetta against numerous other irrational injustices.
This is also where I cringe at organized religion. I legitimately think the people on here spouting anti-homosexual propaganda are otherwise decent, free-thinking individuals. This just seems like a large-scale psychology project on the dangers of indoctrination. In 100 years, it is very likely that America, as a whole, will feel remorse the actions on such a large group of citizens. I already do.
