Always hated JJ and the Cowboys, but I may after start pulling for them.

Jerry Jones, Owner of the Dallas Cowboys called a meeting with all of his Coaches, Players and field staff and firmly told them, "You are all simply paid performers on a stage and that field is my stage! You will stand, with your hand over your heart and with respect, when our Country's National Anthem is being played or you will no longer be a Dallas Cowboy, a Coach for the Dallas Cowboys or have any association with the Dallas Cowboy Organization! I will immediately fire you, no matter who you are!"

Do you disagree that an owner could suspend or cut a player for kneeling tomorrow?

Yes. Yes. Continue on with your minutia and I'll look at reality. As angry as this appears to make you, I can pretty much guarantee you watched football today like the rest of the degenerates on this site. Maybe you should try being more adult-like and simply turning off the parts of the broadcast that offend you. I typically don't watch the national anthem and know how to use a mute button on a remote. It's really not all that challenging. Life's too short to get caught up in what is a non-issue for me. But if you want to pop a blood vessel over it, knock yourself out.

Haha...

1) You didn't answer the question.

2) The protesting of the anthem doesn't bother me like some of these other posters.

3) I won't claim I'm turning off the NFL because of the protesting. I watched it all day.

Try again.

No need to try. I've explained myself thoroughly enough. But do enjoy arguing with someone else. Have a good night.

Even though everything you assumed about me and the NFL is 100% wrong. I don't care if they protest. Makes them look dumb but not my problem.

The whole country focused on this faux-outrage issue and the deadline to pass a new Swampcare through reconciliation is Friday or Saturday.

Makes sense.

919, don't try be a lawyer. The law you quote above was not violated by Trump. Didn't watch a second of the NFL and I will not watch again. Just like I gave up the NBA, I done with the NFL. Their advertisers must be cringing today at this situation. Of course Roger Goodell is on the wrong side of the issue.

Looks like it clearly covers @POTUS and he appears to have violated or at least attempted to violate 18 USC sec 227(a)(2) on #KneelNFL issue

Actually he didn't say that.

And even though the quote was made up, Jones is about the only one I know who would be crazy enough to do it. Mind you, he was stupid enough to fire a coach that had just one back-to-back Superbowls, and shy of winning one more with the team Jimmy Johnson created, the Cowboys have never been back to the Superbowl. Dumb owners let their egos get in the way. I suspect Jerry is smart enough now that if Dak Prescott, Ezekiel Elliott, Jason Witten, and Sean Lee, all decided to sit out the anthem, he wouldn't do a thing.

Of course, the NFL has always been a bunch of hypocrites, ruled by one thing....money. If the player puts people in the seats, isn't overdemanding on their contract demands, and can help the team win, the owners are more than happy to look the other way. And there are plenty of examples of that (i.e. Pac Man Jones, Michael Vic, Ray Lewis, etc). The owners are showing solidarity on this now, because Trump is again being a disruptor. And if people heed his advice, and walk out in solidarity, it will hit them square in the pocketbook. That's all this is about. You really have to look at the ulterior motive here. With that said, I hardly think there will be many hardcore football fans that are going to stop watching football over this non-issue. I think I read last year that the rating were down 8%...big whoop. I'm guessing they were probably a bunch of fence sitters anyway, if they are going to lose their mind over this. If 92% of the fans are still watching, the money is flowing pretty damn well. And I can't think of a degenerate on this site that won't continue to watch, so this is much ado about nothing.

Nobody's first Amendment Rights have been taken away, any talk about that is even dumber then talk about Trump attacking all NFL players instead of the few that sat before he spoke he Friday. People are just messed up in the head.

We watch athletes and celebrities for entertainment, for escape, not for them to shove their ignorance down our throats. And please, let's not pretend they're not fucking ignorant, just look at the positions many of them have and the words many of them spoke. Kap is fucking dumb, period.

It's about them offending scores of millions of Americans, that too is just wrong.

And yes, employer's can expect them to behave in certain ways. Just look at the rules the NFL has about player behavior, how can anyone be so oblivious to reality? The NFL micro manages their behavior, and now assholes want to talk about the first amendment, JFC. If somebody wants to wear a large lip ring, or cover their face with tattoos, or take a knee every time somebody starts talking about our great country, then they're not working for me and that's not taking away their first amendment rights.

They can do what the want on their own time (MOSTLY), but employers absolutely positively can manage their behavior while they're working.

Our founding fathers can't believe how stupid we are

Whether they can and whether they will, are too different subjects. I can't say there are too many things I'm not offended by in the Liberal world. Of course, the more attention I pay to it, the more they will do what annoys me (so I don't give them the attention they crave). As for the rest of it, just follow the money which is about as far as it goes with the NFL and its "principles".

one guess at what the single term McNair would have been called if he said Obama was divisive and counterproductive....(which of course he absolutely was)

anyone, anyone, bueller, bueller? hint, it rhymes with 'bassist'....

McNair echoed other owners in a statement calling Trump’s comments “divisive and counterproductive.”

A POTUS who likes to threaten dissenters is more disrespectful to the flag than a man who kneels, even if kneeling is wrong.
