Lets not forget the genius Kaepernick wearing a che guevara shirt (hint: murderous dictator) and touting the Cuban health system (hint: murderous regime). Say what? This is the fucking ass clown that started this "movement". Let me see, the players that refuse to stand are fighting for black people that are being murdered by the police? Frankly this entire scenario is completely backwards. White people should be protesting the amount of violence that blacks commit against them. Every time we hear about a black being shot by the police it turns out that the police were in the right. Michael Brown was a gentle giant until the video of him emerged strong arming the owner of the store to steal smokes. Hands up don't shoot never happened. Michael Brown was reaching for the officer's gun. It should be "pants up don't loot" black people. If you liberals are amused by the fact that we went from 10 or 20 idiots not standing to hundreds, you really don't get it. This is the same reason that Trump was elected. You have normal hard working Americans who are sick and tired of overpaid athletes (and Hollywood idiots) crying false oppression and preaching to them. Football players should be grateful to this country for giving them the opportunity to make millions of dollars playing a game. Instead they are spitting in the face of those that pay their checks. If you don't think this is going to hurt the NFL you live in the same parallel universe as the morons that are kneeling for the anthem. Ratings are going to do down. Advertising revenue will go down.

The idiots still don't understand the issue, any issue, they're less informed than the average American and that's pretty bad

They're actually acting as if somebody attacked every player in the entire league, when he just mocked the few players not standing for the anthem

They're that fucking stupid, the coverage is that fucking stupid, nobody cares to report the truth

The best part about all of this is no matter which side you stand on, both have the right to their freedom of speech...even Trump. right?

See, this is wrong.

If NFL owners had some sack, they'd do something. These players absolutely have free speech however, speech is not protected on the job and they could expect repercussions for their actions. They could be suspended or cut.

The 1st Amendment only applies to the government's right to suppress speech against the people it serves.

Apparently the NFL has decided to honor it. If you truly think there will be repercussions for any player that will make their team better, then you are truly naive.

The NFL has no say over what an individual team chooses to do to discipline it's own employees. It's no different than a guy working at Dairy Queen or Subway.

If a team decided they wanted to discipline a player, they could.

You can say all you'd like kneeling for the National Anthem before a game makes a team better but I don't see it doing anything to make a team better and furthermore, it's bad for business and the NFL product. If you think the fans in Tennessee or N.E. are happy today, you're sadly mistaken. You do know the fans in N.E. booed the players than knelt right?

AMERICA FIRST: NASCAR Owners Threaten To Fire Drivers And Crew If They Kneel During National Anthem

Multiple NASCAR team owners indicated Sunday they will not tolerate drivers or crew members who kneel during the national anthem as unpatriotic protests plague the beleaguered National Football League.

Former NASCAR champion and legend Richard Petty, who owns Richard Petty Motorsports, told the Associated Press that he would fire any member of his team that chooses to kneel during the national anthem.

“Anybody that don’t stand up for the anthem oughta be out of the country. Period. What got ’em where they’re at? The United States,” Petty said.

Another famous former NASCAR driver, Richard Childress, who owns Richard Childress Racing, said that anyone who works for him that chooses to kneel during the national anthem would face the same fate.

“It’ll get you a ride on a Greyhound bus,” Childress said. “Anybody that works for me should respect the country we live in. So many people gave their lives for it. This is America.”

The comments from NASCAR owners come as the NFL struggles for its survival as its fan base becomes increasingly fractured over the disrespect shown by multi-millionaire athletes who are kneeling in solidarity with victims of alleged oppression.

President Donald Trump fired off a series of tweets on Sunday in response to the disrespect shown by NFL players during the national anthem:

Trump told a crowd in Alabama on Friday that he wishes NFL owners would fire players who refused to stand during the national anthem — a remark that was greeted with overwhelming cheers at the rally for Luther Strange.

You can save your word salad and hypothetical examples. I know you like to argue, but your seperation from reality bores me. Again, the NFL (meaning the collective group of owners) has decided to honor it. And it's more than obvious that if a person can legitimately help their team under their salary constraints, it's going to be allowed. Just like many of the other heinous things some of these superstars do.

The point of my initial post was simply the people protesting seem to think anyone who disagree with their viewpoint are attacking them, rather than simply expressing their right to free speech. A point you clearly missed.

Eden Prairie, MN (September 24, 2017) – Professional sports offer a platform unlike any other, a platform that can bring people from a variety of backgrounds together to impact positive change in our society. As owners, it is our job to foster an environment that recognizes and appreciates diversity of thought and encourages using this platform in a constructive manner. Rather than make divisive statements, we believe in promoting thoughtful, inspiring conversation that unifies our communities. We are proud of our players, coaches and staff for the important role they play in our community, and we fully support their constitutional right to respectfully and peacefully express their beliefs.

well said not that something this obvious needs to be said .

I'm telling you now, if these rich owners start to lose their money, there won't be an honoring of anything.

These people are slow or they don't consult with their legal experts. The 1st Amendment doesn't apply in this situation.
