What's most ironic about this is the whole idea of kneeling came from someone who actually served. He said he offered the idea to Kaeperknick because a lot of soldiers do kneel as a sign of respect for their fallen comrades.

Even if one vet suggested it, so what? It is obvious and inarguable that a majority of current and former military think it is disrespectful. Also note: kneeling for the National Anthem != kneeling for your brother who died.
