What's most ironic about this is the whole idea of kneeling came from someone who actually served. He said he offered the idea to Kaeperknick because a lot of soldiers do kneel as a sign of respect for their fallen comrades.

When has kneeling ever been looked at as a sign of disrespect? Seriously. When has it?

.

Even if one vet suggested it, so what? It is obvious and inarguable that a majority of current and former military think it is disrespectful. Also note: kneeling for the National Anthem != kneeling for your brother who died.

Probably quite a bit honestly. Athletes do a lot in their communities. Media barely ever shines light on that stuff

Can you give me a number? If it's low, that is hypocrisy. You are the self proclaimed NFL historian, shouldn't take you long

No, but each business has their own set of rules. If you can't play by those rules, you will be finding different employment. Simple

I agree 100% but let's not act like the National Anthem being played in a person's work place isn't unique.

Based on what I said what do you think? Because it's hypocritical. Of course there are some veterans who want to make it about disrespect for this country and those who have fought....when it never was ever about that. Those drunk red necks who never served and are still yelling shit at the players during the anthem --are disgraceful people. That's hypocritical. Worry about yourself.

What you don't get is this anger about them not standing isn't about a couple of fans getting angry. It's enough of the fan base to cause a dip in attendance, viewership and a loss of income for the owners. This isn't about a handful of angry fans.

As a Vet myself, I find it disrespectful but I also recognize the right to peacefully protest. That said, you can't protest at work if the boss says you can't protest at work and that has nothing to do with free speech.

so what? I am sure there are unique things to each type of business.

We're talking about the playing of our National Anthem before the work day starts. That isn't the same as having having unique things in a business.

Enfuego is spot on,,, It is UNREASONABLE for a consumer to be forced to be a part of the (black peoples lie),, wether one is black or white or whatever,,,

lets do this,,, lets have those Black players that want to protest the Minute they Buy a mercedes, a ferrari, a Mansion,, they, and their Family MUST allow a Klansman to Drive their car first, and they have to sit in the passenger seat,,
or in their home, a Klansman, MUST be allowed to take the first shit in all of their bathrooms,, so we would need 4 or 6 klansman for that, (they must be there to authenticate a dump was taken,

now that seems like a gdam FAIR exchange,,, it is UNREASONABLE to FORCE a paying fan to witness your hijacking of something special to us, and wipe your ass with a lie,

You might be the biggest retard to grace this forum, that’s saying something in a big way. Enjoy it, not something a mere mortal can achieve, literally the biggest retard in RX history. They should make a bust of your long forehead and display it at every bash from here on to recognize an unachivevable level of retardedness.

Whatever way you want to cut it. The flag signifies freedom. And there is nothing more free than to demonstrate freedom by protesting. Whichever way you want to cut it that's fact. And that's what they are doing. Who gives a shit if it's on someone's work dime. Not my dime. I don't give a fuck. I don't care how many people they are trying to get back to watching. Those people were going to return once the shit died out. Meanwhile there is also a good amount of people who are boycotting the fact Kaeperknick isn't being given a shot. Anybody who legit stopped watching the nfl because of players kneeling...their reasons are hilarious. "My grandfather served. He would be rolling in his grave. " okay your grandfather served lol. So did mine. Whoopty doo.

Why do they? Kneeling isn't a sign of disrespect. If a white guy did it for breast cancer or a cause different than black males being killed by cops....then everyone would listen and not have a problem with the kneeling. That's all you really need to know that the people who have an issue really just have an issue with black people standing up for black people. The flag signifies freedom. Nothing says freedom like protesting. I don't care where you are or what you are doing....working or not working.....

if i preface the use of the N word by stating its not meant to offend anyone it doesnt mean they wont be offended when i use it. so i dont care what they think they mean by kneeling, people are allowed to be offended by the kneeling and see it as disrespect. people are all of a sudden offended and disrespected by statues that have been in place for years....cant tell me that kneeling isnt disrespectful even if they didnt mean for it to be.

15 yarder is a slap on the wrist

the player should be suspended for the game and fined his game check. there is a specific rule on the books that has been agreed upon by the Players Union and their employer (the team) so attaching an actual punishment to this should be no different than how they run the drug program

maybe 1st time = warning, 2nd time = 15 yard penalty, 3rd time = suspended for game without pay, 4th time = 3 games, etc, etc

all of a sudden these bruthas are freedom fighters? ha ha please ... what a joke they are and what a joke the NFL is to take such a pussy stance to rules that have already been agreed to

Mob, here is what I don't get. If this issue is so important to them, why aren't they organizing rallies in their cities on the steps of city hall? Wouldn't that generate more press coverage and perhaps engage more supporters?

In my opinion, they're doing the least effort thing possible to "start a dialogue" Well, F-that, if black men are getting indiscriminately gunned down why aren't they demanding meetings with police chiefs and mayors?

(Because it is all a stunt)

They are meeting with police chiefs. I've seen discussions held like that. That dialogue has been started years ago.

Just because the media news outlets doesn't show it doesn't mean it's not going on. There are a lot of proactive athletes trying to make positive change. They live busy ass lives where football dominates. Maybe some of them focus on it more after football. Because the minute you start doing shit that doesn't involve the NFL....they ALL are going to say he's not focused and he's taking time away that he could be working on becoming a better football player. So once you take it out of the NFLs hands....and go elsewhere with it....you might as well retire because every team is going to look at you as football is secondary to you.

Right now they can get away with doing it in their workplace without being accused of not being focused on football. All I hear is they are ignorant athletes......which doesn't really matter to them. But if they were to "rally" like so many suggest, it will no longer be about football anymore. Which hurts their careers in football.

NBA players have more leverage than nfl players because there are more guaranteed contracts. But still they don't use their leverage to do what the nfl players have done.

How is it a stunt? They are already millionaires. What are they stunting for? Attention? They are professional athletes lol.

When you want to know the cause or reason for something you have to ask what is their incentive? So what is their incentive? It isn't more money. It isn't attention. In fact, they are risking their own money and their own fame by protesting. So what is their incentive for protesting? That's a question I'm not going to answer and I'm just going to leave you with that to ponder
