I assume the other leagues have similar 'legislation'. Either that or basketball, baseball and hockey players do not feel the same way.

great question

There isn't a 15 yard penalty. They didn't implement that.

Interesting they didnt release the numbers on the owners for the voting.

There are a lot of people angry at the NFL for actual legit reasons. Not this. Aka the settlement that the nfl has to pay former Injured players....and they only pay out to severe cases. But... how many people at the games during the national anthem are shitty drunk, yelling shit, not removing a hat/hoodie, not paying attention to the anthem.....but because they pay they can act however they want?

Anybody who thought this was about being patriotic and respecting the flag is an idiot. Like a lot of the owners first stated when Kaeperknick was kneeling. Complete bullshit. And since it is not even about that and NEVER was. Then what's the purpose of even having it? Just do without it. Then there are no locker room issues and disputes.

Sick of pampered athletes and Hollywood types bitchin' about the country that gave them the relatively easy opportunity to become rich.

Where else could that have happened in the history of the world?

Stand and salute the flag and everything it stands for and those who died for it. Clueless ingrates. Tell me one place in the world, now or past, where there are more affluent black people.

In all fairness, no other business plays the National Anthem before work starts.

No, but each business has their own set of rules. If you can't play by those rules, you will be finding different employment. Simple

How is this even remotely about the fans?

Between the players bitching and NBC and CNN saying all the players should stay in the locker room nothing has changed. I will say it again. Fuck all of these overpaid ungrateful ingrates who are getting paid millions of dollars yet complain about false oppression. I will not be watching.

Based on what I said what do you think? Because it's hypocritical. Of course there are some veterans who want to make it about disrespect for this country and those who have fought....when it never was ever about that. Those drunk red necks who never served and are still yelling shit at the players during the anthem --are disgraceful people. That's hypocritical. Worry about yourself.

Don't know why they play the national anthem before sporting events. In baseball, most of the players aren't even US natives. In hockey, they play two anthems when a Canadian team is involved, even though there are probable more Canadians than Americans on both squads. Maybe in World Cup play, it's appropriate because players are representing entire countries. It's a football, baseball, basketball, soccer, whatever GAME. Play a rock song like Hell's Bells when Trevor Hoffman would come in. Get the crowd jacked up. Do they play the national anthem each day when Congress or the House convenes? Doubt it. Do away with it. Nothing patriotic about a Packers-Vikings football game.

Agree. Do away with it. Will save a lot of disputes and locker room disparity.

money money money

Right. True. But why do it in high schools? It's something that is done everywhere. For not many good reasons. It clearly has very little to do with being patriotic.

The fact is the NFL is still #1 on TV over anything else happening.

I think the people who are boycotting the NFL that are on Kaepernicks side are way more likely to call it quits on the NFL for good rather than the people insulted by players kneeling temporarily. The NFL are only accommodating one group.

Another point I'll make is this....before anything destroys the NFL.....protesting, people not coming out for the anthem, cte brain trauma, etc..... what will destroy the NFL before any of that is their own greed. They continually make the wrong ethical moral decisions. And that is what will cost them before anything else. They will be responsible for their own demise if there ever is one. Guaranteed.

How many of the players who take a knee are also actively trying to help the cause once they are outside the stadium and out of the spotlight?

If your employer doesn't want you to protest something on THEIR FUCKING TIME, their you can't protest something on THEIR FUCKING TIME. It doesn't take away anybody's rights in any way shape or form. The players can protest when they're not working. It's not rocket science either

It seems pretty clear that Goodell could screw up a 1 car funeral.

This story is over 2 years old. He could have nipped it in the bud. Instead, it is dragging on and on.

Now:

[h=1]NFL players reportedly already discussing new forms of protest after national anthem rule[/h]

Other journalists, including NFL Media reporter Jim Trotter, said they are also hearing of some players considering other forms of protest, including staying in their locker room for the national anthem.

Probably quite a bit honestly. Athletes do a lot in their communities. Media barely ever shines light on that stuff

What's most ironic about this is the whole idea of kneeling came from someone who actually served. He said he offered the idea to Kaeperknick because a lot of soldiers do kneel as a sign of respect for their fallen comrades.

When has kneeling ever been looked at as a sign of disrespect? Seriously. When has it?

The idea came from a soldier. I've also heard another soldier say nothing in this country signifies freedom like protesting. Nothing.

So it's all a bit ironic that someone who is demonstrating his freedom for a cause they strongly believe in...which is the point of the flag lol......is being ridiculed. The message is lost really. And people are just too ignorant to care.

Well some owners are separate on the issue. The majority don't like it. So if some owners are not completely against it and those players want to protest.....they can't now.

Nfl players protesting off the clock....nfl owners and media will say he's not focused, he's not training. Plus it's not safe. That's common sense. It's a lose lose situation. Might as well at this point refuse to stand down to the league and continue fighting the league on it. They just want to prevent it instead of addressing it.
