In case you fell asleep yesterday LAC took an 85-57 lead into the 4Q, and proceded to lose the final period 9-27 to get the D-League Lakers the Cover. In other shenanigans another Hawaii team benefitted from "Home Cooking" (a vague term for "Ref Outright Stealing") and covered the 9.5 Spot 79-67 after trailing 51-60 with minutes remaining. That's right folks, they're crying "FIX" on that Auburn Twitter even, after the refs made them walk the plank by a 28-7 margin for Hawaii in the last 5 minutes. Hawaii refs are INfamous.

Post #1779 hit nearly 100% yesterday with Xmas Day trends, including a big ML Dog on Da Bulls.

I'm going to copy my friend, Riderx' research. Then I'm going to copy my complimentart research on teams undefeated going into Week 16.

///

I looked & found ways for my homey Falcons cover +7 at home today. Yes...it's the NFL & they have a shot, but they're "stale" & have been for awhile.

Maybe the Panthers have nothing to play for...maybe they lay down & say "f*ck it".

I don't believe it...
s9.gif

Getting +7pts. at home is tempting...very tempting...like the devil tappin' me on the shoulder all week sayin' "take the points, it'll be alright"...
s13.gif
...Yeah, right...& "She really does love me"...
s4.gif

Wouldn't suprise me if she did & wouldn't suprise me if Atlanta covers, but I ain't bettin' on it...
s12.gif

Non-Thursday division home teams from week 12 on that lost s/u by -24pts or more less than 4 weeks ago vs. the same team are:

0-10 ats

Against Atl+7...play on: Car-7

(Then again...if the ncaa allows a 5-7 team into a bowl game, maybe the nfl allows a 7-7 team to win s/u.)

Ha, ha, ha-a-a...

Is Carolina the least respected 14-0 team of all time?

So prior to this season there have only been 3 NFL teams who were undefeated going into their 15th game.

The '72 Dolphins who finished 17-0 (sorry not enough time to find their ATS records). The '07 Pats who were 16-0 before losing in the SB. And the '09 Colts who lost their Week 16 game as -4 home favorites.

Interestingly the Pats, Colts, and Panthers all carried the same 10-4 ATS record into week 16.

So I added up the spreads for each team through their first 14 games.

161 New England
76' Indianapolis
49 Carolina

Those accumulative spread numbers tell me that the Panthers are clearly the least respected of the 14-0 teams.

At 14-0 the Pats were 22 point home favorites to Div rival Miami in their 15th game. The Pats won 28-7, just failing to cover the drazy 22 point impost.

At 14-0 the Colts were 4 point favs vs the Jets in their 15th game which they lost outright 15-29, but it was hardly an all out effort as they pulled Peyton Manning and other starters early, while the game outcome was still far from decided.

Any talk of pulling Panther starters early today? Naw. Only a Colts coach (Jim Caldwell in this case) would have done that. Guessing Rivera and his Panthers put in a full effort today.
like Riderx' research says they do.

Not loving this card today. If I could be 100% positive these games weren't fucked around with I'd bet my lungs on CAR/NE/SEA/PIT and go back to bed.

Home-field advantage and more is on the line in Week 17.
The Carolina Panthers and New England Patriots can earn the top seed in their conference and lock up home-field advantage with victories on Sunday.
The Panthers (14-1), could be leapt by the Arizona Cardinals (13-2) for the NFC's top spot with a loss.
New England is the only AFC team guaranteed a first-round bye and if the Patriots win at Miami on Sunday, the defending Super Bowl champions won't have to leave home in the playoffs until a potential Super Bowl 50 flight in February.
Here are the playoff scenarios for Week 17 by conference:
AFC

CLINCHED:
New England – AFC East and a first-round bye
Cincinnati – AFC North
Denver – playoff berth
Kansas City – playoff berth
1. NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS (at Miami)
New England clinches home-field advantage throughout AFC playoffs with:
--NE win or tie OR
--DEN loss or tie

2. DENVER BRONCOS (vs. San Diego)
Denver clinches AFC West division with:
--DEN win or tie OR
--KC loss or tie
Denver clinches a first-round bye with:
--DEN win OR
--DEN tie + CIN loss or tie OR
--KC loss or tie + CIN loss
Denver clinches home-field advantage throughout AFC playoffs:
--DEN win + NE loss
3. CINCINNATI BENGALS (vs. Baltimore)
Cincinnati clinches a first-round bye with:
--CIN win + DEN loss or tie OR
--CIN tie + DEN loss OR
--DEN loss + KC win
4. KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (vs. Oakland)
Kansas City clinches AFC West division with:
--KC win + DEN loss
5. NEW YORK JETS (at Buffalo)
New York Jets clinch a playoff spot with:
--NYJ win or tie OR
--PIT loss or tie
6. PITTSBURGH STEELERS (at Cleveland)
Pittsburgh clinches a playoff spot with:
--PIT win + NYJ loss
7. HOUSTON TEXANS (vs. Jacksonville)
Houston clinches AFC South division with:
--HOU win or tie OR
--IND loss or tie OR
--HOU clinches strength of victory tiebreaker over IND or clinches strength of schedule tiebreaker over IND
Houston clinches strength of victory tiebreaker over IND if one of the following teams wins or ties: CIN, NE, NO, NYJ, SD.
Houston clinches strength of schedule tiebreaker over IND if KC wins or ties and BAL wins or ties as long as both teams don't tie.
Still alive:
INDIANAPOLIS COLTS (vs. Tennessee)
Indianapolis clinches AFC South division with:
--IND win + HOU loss + IND ties HOU in strength of victory tiebreaker and clinches strength of schedule tiebreaker over HOU
Indianapolis ties HOU in strength of victory tiebreaker and clinches strength of schedule tiebreaker over HOU if the following occurs:
--ATL, BAL, BUF, DEN, MIA all win
--Plus, OAK win or tie and PIT win or tie, but both teams cannot tie.
If Houston and Indianapolis are tied in strength of victory and tied in strength of schedule, the teams would then go to the next tiebreaker, which is best combined ranking among AFC teams in points scored and points allowed in all games.
NFC
CLINCHED:
Carolina – NFC South and a first-round bye
Arizona – NFC West and a first-round bye
Washington – NFC East
Green Bay – playoff berth
Minnesota – playoff berth
Seattle – playoff berth
1. CAROLINA PANTHERS (vs. Tampa Bay)
Carolina clinches home-field advantage throughout NFC playoffs with:
--CAR win or tie OR
--ARI loss or tie
2. ARIZONA CARDINALS (vs. Seattle)
Arizona clinches home-field advantage throughout NFC playoffs with:
--ARI win + CAR loss
3. GREEN BAY PACKERS (vs. Minnesota, Sunday night)
Green Bay clinches NFC North division with:
--GB win or tie
4. MINNESOTA VIKINGS (at Green Bay, Sunday night)
Minnesota clinches NFC North division with:
--MIN win

Nevada +4.5 ..... Lsu -7

I'm 100-95 in Hoops. I've already lost count of how many games that have been ripped from me in the last 10-30 seconds like MIL last night. Catching 6.5 they throw the ball away unforced down 97-93 with 11 seconds left. Layup. Another turnover. Then foul. Then technical foul. All in 5 seconds!!!!! Dribble out last 6 seconds, W turned into L.
