acw,

I always enjoy your posts for your Asian perspective is a unique one on these boards and much needed IMO to get a true picture of what's going on out there.

I agree with your lists, although the jury's still out on Olympic for me. If Spiro gambles, it's only to the extent of having a larger or smaller guaranteed profit IMO. I don't think he exposes himself to losing, or at least not on purpose.

I think you overestimate the amount of line shopping being done. Yes there are forum geeks like me, Fish, Fezzik, etc. who go on and on about the importance of line shopping etc. but let's remember that 98% of players bet so they can enjoy the game more and a couple of points here and there is not worth maintaining several accounts, tying up the money etc. They will not write exposés on these boards defending their positions because for one the Fezziks of the world will eat them for lunch (wrongly so IMO) but more importantly because WTF is the point!? They just turn on the forum to get their picks, find out which books are in trouble, place their bets and get on with life. Sports betting is just not the number one focus in their lives, and for that I can hardly blame them.

Darryl, did you read my post about your wonderful women? I really would love to hear if they are as sweet as my friends say they are?
Sorry for the digression.

Darryl,

You are so wonderful naïve! Some books out there are 'fighting' for 40% with sick gambler and probably the other 40% of their customers are 'sick gamblers' too.

OK, here is a perfect example of what may be only a minor minor red flag that THE SHRINK has information on,however, it is enough of one for me to say to myself..........."Gee, let me not be financially exposed to Cascade at this time until at least this gets resolved and I learn more about it".

So therefore, I have no money at CASCADE now.

In my heart and mind I feel that CASCADE is a favorite to probably get through this.

However, no need for me to have funds there currently after hearing this.

Do you posters?

Well known books I personally will not be having money with for at least the next 2-3 months, but would love to later down the road if things appear brighter from their perspective.

Fishhead is REALLY giving you guys some good advice, although like I said, I don't believe ROYAL owes anyone at this time and they have made good on their recent delays...

Aside from VWager/MVP, Players SB and BHB fall under their umbrella too...

One more sports book to be careful with is Bluegrass...

Hope you guys find this information useful and NOT intended to hurt good people. We just owe it to our posters to come clean on what we know...

FYI, Lenny (Cascade) and Doug (Bluegrass) are two of the more honorable guys I know in this biz who just happen to be having a hard time of it as of now...

I would make all of the four books that I mentioned above that I refuse to have money in currently a favorite to survive...........however, I sure as heck am not going to chance being in any of them until I believe the odds swing more in my favor.

acw,

I'm not sure which one of us is naive...take a look at the following stats taken from the main thread on this subject...

quote:
I will do you one better than that. How about EXACT PAYOUT FIGURES for Jun 17, 2004 as of 4:30 p.m. EST:

FedEx checks = $28,050
FirePay = $10,300
Neteller = $25,556
Neteller InstaCash (refund) = $3,580
PrepaidATM = $686
Western Union = $125,965

TOTAL = $194,137.00 USD

Of the 194K in withdrawals on a given day, 126K was taken by Western Union! WU charges fees of AT LEAST 4% and V-Wager does not cover ANY of those fees (on withdrawals). Are you telling me that people who are willing to pay 4% on a withdrawal give a hoot about 2 points on the betting line!?

acw,

OK, maybe it's not naivete on your part but rather over-suspicion. I assume people will lie when they believe it is in their advantage to do so. In this case there is no reason for V-Wager to lie. The point they were trying to make was the total amount of withdrawals they paid and not the split between WU, Neteller, etc.
