Pats should go sign Revis for league minimum and let Jets pay the rest of his salary next year.

That would help losing Butler. If Pats don't get another CB after losing Butler they will have problems all season at 2nd CB position.

Revis is motivated after this last season and wants to win and would be cheap for the Pats because of the Jets stupidity.

Would love to stick it to the Jets like this, sure BB would also. lol

Would love to see Revis here cheap and finishing strong. But I doubt either of those things will happen.

He wouldn't even consider staying before and even if he came back I'm not sure how much is left in that tank.

Would sure make things interesting if your thoughts played out.

Sign Butler.

another "it's done date" has come and gone

I want Butler, but for some reason it just doesn't seem as if the Pats want to give him the money he apparently commands

maybe he'll take a little less to stay, can always hope

Hoping.

We know how the Pats work. They zig when others expect them to zag. Can't imagine they don't want him. He always seemed to be a model Patriot to me. And of course I love his game.

He went to saints headquarters today to finalize the contract.
He can't sign a contract tonight.
The pats have to sign him.
saints are not allowed to sign him outside the tender.

Saints are not going to give him a tender because that would require them to give the pats the 11th pick which is not happeninf .

Hes going to sign his contract tomorrow with the pats then him and his new contract will be traded to the saints.

I've been saying all this for almost a week now.
There is no more guess work . It's done.

Meanwhile in settle im hearing they want to trade Sherman for draft picks and the saints have interest in him to.

How about a butler and Sherman secondary?

Who needs WRs? Lol

The Sherman thing is not official or even close to official just talks right now

So if the Saints don't want to give the Pats their first round draft pick why would the Patriots want to sign and trade Butler to them for less, much less according to you?

If they don't do as you say they can get a #1 if he signs with someone else. They can match someone else. Or they can keep him for under 4 mill this year if no one wants to give them a number one.

We'll see. But I'd be stunned if things go as you predict. Pats are smarter than that.

Because nobody else is going to give up a #1 to sign him. Saints about to pay him almost as much as Gilmore .
You gotta consider the cost considerations when it comes to this.

Not only would a team have to give a first round pick in a deep draft they have to pay him almost 50 million .

Its not like you getting butler on a rookie contract like you got cooks

You looking at this as a singular trade.
The saints would have never let go of cooks for what they did if this was not in place.

They got offered the eagles #18 earlier in the process .

They got offered a swap from the titans 11th for 5th and a 3rd for cooks.

The pats gave the saints the lowest offer of all teams for cooks if the deal they made was a stand alone.

Stop looking at this as a single trade it's not.

The pats are not done compensating the saints for cooks yet.

It's hilarious to read all over the internet the pats fans who actually believe they are about to get the 11th pick of the draft in this trade.

Nobody wants to give up a number one. Beautiful. We keep him for under 4 million. Thank you very much.

PS Chop, if you paid a number one to get him he is worth it. A known solid football player, good citizen, with good habits, coming out of the best organization at what is arguably the second most important position on any team in today's NFL for a hit or miss number one. I'd take Butler every time.

None of the other 31 teams seem to agree with you.

butler can be had right now by all 31 teams for a first round pick right now.

Where are all these teams?

Just trying to prepare you pats fans of 2 things .

Butler will be a saint tomorrow .
And you not getting the saints #11 pick .

It's just hilarious the delusion.

Went to a patriots board and they have a 50 page thread about who they gonna draft with the 11th pick.

You talk like the Patriots are desperate to get rid of Butler. Who cares what the other 31 teams think? We can keep him for 4 mill when he's a top cornerback. Do you really think the Pats want to get rid of him?

As for you banning yourself, we won't hold you to that. If we lose Butler to some crappy deal with the Saints for a guy we never needed I'll be very surprised. Very.

you're funny

tomorrow tomorrow it's happening tomorrow, there's always tomorrow, not that tomorrow, the other tomorrow or the tomorrow after that

Butler may very well end up with the Saints, we all know he interviewed with them. I doubt the Saints get him for a song like you think, and isn't ironic you're now downplaying how talented Butler may or may not be?

Maybe the Saints are the only team willing to part with a first round pick for Butler

hey, tomorrow is another day

But will Pats get the #32 pick back from the Saints? That's the speculation I'm seeing from most.
