Who could possibly go for long without seeing this 400+ yard passing championship game by Austin.
His college career included over 17,000 passing yards, over 1100 completions and 154 TD passes.
His coach at SOSC, Craig Howard also happened to be Tim Tebow's high school football coach in the
State or Florida. He puts both Austin and Tebow on a similar level, both of them with exceptional talent
and skill. Perhaps Austin will eclipse Tebow in his NFL career. That isn't asking for much.

It seems like pac is wide open....ore,ucla,usc,zona,zona st, Stan...any of these teams could beat each other...I think they will knock themselves out of the playoff this yr...

From the USC alumni point of view, the Trojans MUST win the Pac 12 South this season and the Pac 12 Championship by next season or Sark is in real trouble. There can be no question that USC has the best talent overall in the Pac 12 and the best recruiting. If they cannot put it together, it will be time to find someone who can get them there.

This has been the Pac-12's problem for several years. Some very good solid teams, but no great teams. Really, the best team in the modern era that I've seen was the 2004 USC team. And that was basically the last great team they had from the conference. Until the other teams start becoming consistent top 10-15 recruiting schools, it's probably always going to be USC with an outside chance at UCLA if they can ever get their stuff together.

Good Mike Leach/Washington State article:

http://coachingsearch.com/article?a...olarship-offensive-linemen-and-3-didnt-belong

Despite coming off a 3-9 season, Mike Leach is feeling good heading into 2015, and the growth of the offensive line is one reason — literally.
Washington State has 19 offensive linemen on the roster, and all five starters from last season return. It’s a far cry from what Leach had when he arrived in Pullman.

Leach joined SiriusXM College Sports Nation, and when talking about his Cougars, the coach starts up front.

“We’ve got everybody back. That’s one thing that’s huge for us,” he said. “We’re still young as can be, but most importantly, we have our whole O-line back. When I first got here, we had six O-linemen on scholarship, which is a disturbingly low number, and then the other number more disturbing to that is we only averaged 265 pounds. Of those six guys on scholarship, only three of them belonged.

“Now we’re up to about 310, and last year, we had three guys that had never played, but they’re all back. We’re experienced somewhat now. I’m excited about that.”

[FONT=Arial, Helvetica]Washington WR/DB John Ross is out for the year with a leg injury which is a huge loss for the Huskies, losing 4 defensive players to the draft and last years QB quiting the team it could be a long year for UW.

Washington was a major disappointment last season. They returned 14 starters, but regressed from 9-4 under Sark to 8-6 under Peterson. Now they must rebuild their entire offense and the bulk of their defensive line. On top of all of that, they lose their best WR/DB and top scoring threat on the team. Their schedule sees them opening at Boise State, and starting in October, embarking on a very difficult 6 game run, at USC, Oregon, at Stanford, Arizona, Utah, and at Arizona State. 6 wins may be good for this team. For sure it is going to be a difficult season for Peterson.

It would be good for them to find an all-conference running back. It would lighten the load on Leach's bombardiers.

Sometimes a recruit catches my eye and I can't help but wonder if and how he might fit in.

In this case it's an Oregon commit at WR, a kid named Theo Howard from Westlake Village HIgh school near Los Angeles.
My eyes have lost him once or twice when trying to keep up with him because kids as fast as he is don't flash by my gaze
with his kind of speed very often. At the regional opening in San Leandro (bay area in N.Cal.) Theo turned in a 4.38 / 40.
(UCLA happens to be trying to poach him away from Oregon reports say but I think Theo has found a home where speed
matters in a very big way. Before I even took a look at his recruiting highlight video it seems pretty obvious that a 4.38
40 yd dash will earn you 4 stars right off the bat, and especially in his case because his running form is Olympic grade.

I think the phenomenon goes deeper than what you see on the surface...

In the South, it's about the chicken and jojos which is how 330 lb. defensive linemen are reared... a lot of KFC (or equal)
and often. On the left coast, it's about how fast you can be the perpetrator and how fast you can run from the cops...
gangland style like the crypts and the bloods. Just a theory.

Howard cannot take a hit. I saw him play in a couple of games and he is lightning fast, but totally unable to handle the physical side of things. That could fit well in Oregon, because we know that Oregon cannot win physical games.

Theo Howard announced his commitment to Oregon over offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Illinois, Michigan, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oregon State, Texas A&M, UCLA, USC, Wisconsin and many others.

Maybe you and Paradise could open a recruiting service since you two know more than many schools it seems.

cannot is a pretty big word for a team that wins as much as we have...Mich St and Stanford sure didn't outmuscle us last year...

Ohio State and Arizona sure did. This is why Oregon will NOT win a football championship in the near future. They are just fine until someone just hauls off and hits them in the mouth. Oregon's opponents are catching on. Rough them up and they cannot compete. Just look at what Ohio State did to them. Do you really think that Michigan State will not do the same thing, knowing that it is the only way they can defeat Oregon? When you guys win a NC, then you can talk. You have had many years to do so. You have failed every year. You blew two chances in the past four years. One game was close. Last year was a route. The only reason why it was as close as it was is because of Mariotta and he is gone. Live with it. Do you really want to compare the history of Oregon Football against the History of USC football? I do not want to hear about "all of the games" that yo have won. Bottom line. Oregon always loses the big game. That makes Oregon a loser.

Another fun fact. Since the beginning, only three of the original Pac 8 teams have failed to win a NC. Washington State is one. The entire state of Oregon makes up the other two. Something to rest your football laurels on, Oregon and Oregon State homers.

Actually, according to NCAA records, California won (5) NC's............... 1920, 1921, 1922, 1923 and again in 1937.
Stanford won (2) NC's .....the 1926 team which was coached by the legendary Glenn "Pop" Warner and, again, in 1940, coached by Clark Shaughnessy.
