I got 160k on mine..mechanically fine. Starting to rust and the interior is total shit. Think I can get 200k out of it if it doesn't rust apart.

A lot of Strong Posters in this here thread

When I sold my 1992 Chevy S10 in 2013 it had 255k

Current 2006 Ranger bought then at 37k, now at 105k...Maybe one more year....has good AC and satellite radio/internet. Since I am in my vehicle about 20 hrs or more each week it needs to pretty much be like a small bachelor pad

03 Accord I inherited a couple of years ago from wifey when I totaled my truck.
165K. And runs like it will go for another 150.
Haven't had a car payment in 8 years.

I kinda feel like 200k is the new 100k with proper maintence getting around 200k is easily achievable with just about any halfway decent car.

did notice some names not mentioned in here, dodge, Pontiac, Mazda, Mitsubishi, hyundai..avoid

I swear by the upper tier foreign models. Lexus, Acura, Infiniti imo are some of the most durables rides on the road

Yep. You should be getting 200k out of today's cars. Foreign cars just run longer. I drive a 2007 Volvo S60 with 160k. Girl drives a 2009 Caddilac Escalade ESV with 200k. I'm a car guy so I fix most anything. On my car I've done a lot to make it run smoother, not just because it broke. I changed the entire suspension, pcv breather system, and smaller things to make it run smoother. I like working on cars. The Escalade has needed a few grand maintenance over the years. Both cars run great. She's wanting a new one so we will probably get another car.

A Saab with 260,000, a Taho with $240,000, another suv with 238,000 and a 4 Runner only 6 months old with 50,000 already. All going strong with only oil changes and tire rotations. Cars should go longer if maintained these days

1998 Toyota Corolla. Gave it to my sister in law (that just got her licence) a few years back ; 252,000 miles on it when I gave it to her. She is about to sell it or trade it in for a newer car. Still runs like a champ.

Tundra has 185,000 and ready to go another 185,000. I plan to drive it for 3-5 more years and then turn it into the yardwork and hunting trips truck. I'll then most likely look for another good used one like when I bought this one because no way am I paying $50k for a new truck.

I've actually heard the escalade is horribly unreliable. Surprised to see it show up in this thread

Geography has alot to do with this thread. Snow, salt ,ice play havoc on exterior. Also certain states like pa are more strict on inspection. Imagine you find the highest miles down south with lenient state inspection

It runs like a champ. It was 100k brand new. Now would bring around 25k with miles. I'm gonna keep it as there's no reason to get rid of it. Been paid off. At 100k miles the struts had to be replaced. About 300 a piece. Just recently replaced the fuel pump and filter. It runs and looks great.

Regardless of how wealthy they are, people who drive older/non luxury cars that are paid for are smart. Such a waste of money shelling out that $1000-$2000 monthly car pmt just for appearances. Not to mention the maintenence costs. I always laugh when I see a guy I know is making about 50k a year driving around in a new BMW because I know he's living just for that car pmt. And I know plenty of millionaires who drive an old pickup truck. That kind of thinking is how they became millionaires in the first place.

I'm 30 years old, make good money, and I've never had a new car in my life. If I ever got one the most expensive I would go would just be a new jeep wrangler.
