I cant believe some people really tip $1. I'm not trying to sound like a dick, but don't you feel cheap or feel bad? Its not like the person cutting your hair is getting to keep the whole $15 or $12 it might cost for the haircut. If they don't own the place and just cut hair there they might be getting 40% of that $12 and the owner gets 60%. So these people are living on tips.

That's part of why I tip so big because I know there are cheap people out there and im trying to make up for them.

I make my wife do it with the clippers, she is terrible around the ears but if you take it down low enough it doesnt even matter.

i just use a 2 guard everywhere since i work in a restaurant sometimes cooking, short hair is a must choice. Ill typically do like 2 out of every 3 haircuts on my own. the other go to a barber and let them do it. runs about $20 with tip.

I just get a simple hair cut so I go to a cosmetology school and have a student cut my hair. It costs only $5.00 and I don't need to tip since it takes the student twice as long to cut my hair as it should and they don't do the best job. One time I was almost decapitated by a clipper. In the end, it is worth the money saved.

I feel a haircut for me should cost around $30. Go to a couple different places that charge around $15-$20 so I tip it up to $30 regardless of what the cut costs.

One time they had a sale for $10 cuts and I tipped her $20. Why not? They are just like servers in bars/restaurants, they live on tips.

$18 plus $5 gratuity. My barbershop does a good job and I would gladly pay twice as much. A bad hair cut is the the equivalent of paying full juice.

It changes. Visit a barber every other month, $23 with tip. Mostly go there to hang out with the locals, make fun of tourists and gossip. Wife cuts it every other month with decent clippers.

Couple times a year I'll visit my old barber in B. Hills. Nice old time place, with a shoe polish guy and everything. He's about 80 years old but walks every day and knows everyone in town. Runs about $40 and you tip him about the same and I'm happy to pay it

Clip it once every two months since 2003. Before that would let it grow for a year, then shave it completely. Before that, mom would pay for it. Paid for a hair cut only about five or six times in my life. Left the Army this year and it's starting to get long, now I'll just clip it once every six months or so. As soon as the hotel samples run out I'll buy shampoo for the first time in six years
