Disney cruise - expensive comparatively to Royal. Double for same cruise days. No gambling. Food better than RC, but not by a huge margin. Amenities are obviously very kid related, where RC is very adult related. I have been on 2 with the kids when they were smaller, and it was truly great. But once they hit a certain age, I think its overkill, and you get better value on RC.

We let our little ones roam the ship cause the kids rooms get boring for them. Disney has a phone system where your cabin phone works throughout the ship, so they can check in with you. Also Disney has cruise app which allows communication between people (I never buy the wi-fi on a cruise - defeats the purpose. Cruises are for unplugging.). RC has nothing like that and it was harder to communicate/keep track of people that dispersed in different directions.

Amelia is fantastic, the Ritz is the bomb. The Omni is good as well, but obviously a step down. But all rooms face ocean.

good to hear about the Ritz at Amelia. Stayed at the Rits in New Orleans this year and was disappointed

RC has an app where you can text each other on board. Makes life 10000% easier

My kiddos being 3 and 1 will be sticking with us. I like the walkie talkie idea though

You going with in laws or just u and the wife?

I couldnt imagine being on a cruise with 2 babies.

1 cool with with kids is that you can find some real good deals on cruises if you dont go during summer time, xmas break, or spring break (ie: let them miss school)

Nah just us. We took them both to Disney World when they were even younger, and cruise way easier than dragging them through the parks.

Also helps that my daughter is the most laid back 1 year old in history

We also have a few nights to decompress and relax at the Ritz after

I remember about 15 years ago going on a cruise during week 14 or 15 of the NFL season where they didnt have internet packages.

Had no clue if i won my fantasy playoff game until i got off the ship!!

I went last Thanksgiving and they said they didn't have that app. So its either new, or they didn't know what they were talking about.

That was the hardest part of it - trying to find my kids on a 12 story ship.

I think some ships have it and some dont.

When i sailed the Harmony, i know i had it. when i sailed the Allure, i dont think i did

People I know seem to love them, I've never been

Disney does tend to entertain well, I'm sure it's first class

JC, I know you are a Disney guy.

have u looked into Disney’s “not so scary Halloween”? You get to dress in costume and go trick or treating at magic kingdom. A little pricey but it’s fun.
