Just a quick revision, the more I think about I believe Rourke will win. I wouldn't put any money on Penn at 2-1. Langella for a small value play but forget Penn. It seems like everyone is voting for Rourke but saying they think their colleagues will vote for Penn. Still wouldn't lay -200 but I think that his chances are probably closer to 75% then 50%

Hopefully everyone makes a little money tonight.

*and for the sickos who love their huge favorites Wall-E is a lock to win Animated feature.

What do you make of the late line movement on Adams for Supporting Actress. I will get bludgeoned if she wins

Most people are attributing that to the (bogus) Winners List that was released 3-4 days ago, and the resultant betting that took place because she was named the winner.

Any thoughts on the late line movement against Slumdog Best Picture and Boyle Director ? The lines haven't dropped a whole lot, but they have moved down some in the last 12 hours.

I haven't read anything suggesting any other winners except those two.

I've read a couple views indicating she had support. But I'm not buying it to the point where she will win. Unbelievably I think some of the categories have been effected by the "leaked" list of oscar winners. I think her name being listed there has some part with the odds moving.

Well we'll know our fate early, supporting actress is the first award given out. Would be nice to start off with a nice hit on Viola Davis.

Just goofs seeing -900 and thinking "nothing can be this favored."

Is a little strange. Assume those just looking at the lines for the first time to bet on tonight don't know the full deal. They look at Slumdog at -800 or so and say "why the heck is it such a big fav"? And then throw a few bucks on the No at the big price for entertainment.

I too have not heard of any word on a possible spoiler.

Throw some change on Leo for the complete covering of the bases.

Yes I'm still drinking that kool-aid. Leo to the moon! lol

With all the chatter for Leo, you'd think that the lines would have moved some, but they haven't budged.

I bet her +5200 yesterday morning, mainly to hedge my Winslet/Streep pairings, but it's as if I'm the only one on the face of the earth that actually put money on her.

The lines moved on Henson after Nate Silver's piece ... moved on Adams after the bogus Winners List surfaced ... but Leo hasn't moved at all.

Majority of folks don't like betting on a probable loser. I'm a little surprised it hasn't come down a little but not surprised. According to the public Kate Winslet has it in the bag with only Streep as a spoiler. The average joe hasn't even heard of Melissa Leo.

fwiw - Leo won the Spirit Award yesterday (only beat one fellow oscar nominee Hathaway) to keep the hope alive. Reports claim she received one of the best ovations

melissa leo was on "Homicide Life on the streets" for a couple seasons, married to someone famous i think. Frozen River was a far superior movie to slumdog. watch it if you want to see a real indy.
