Oregon Quarterback - Dakota Prukop a graduate transfer from Montana looks to have the edge for the starting
quarterback position even though Mark Helfrich hasn't named a starter. Prukop, redshirt freshman Travis Jonsen
and true freshman Terry Wilson are competing for the job. Last season at Montana, Prukop passed for 3,025
yards and 28 touchdowns with 10 interceptions. He also ran for 774 yards and 11 touchdowns. Montana, a member
of the Big Sky Conference won 5 and lost 6 games last year.

Amazing they can't develop a QB in-house. UF has had this problem for 7 years now....and finally, a transfer is about to take over as the starting QB.

I'm curious to see how Oregon does. This will be second year in a row w/ questions at QB for them. Betting them is off the table until we see what the QB looks like.

10-4 Coach...I wouldn't recommend going ape on Oregon, especially with their public love
with just 11 starters returning and breaking in a new quarterback.

Being honest, I don't have a clue how this year's team will perform. The Ducks ain't going
to win the conference much less challenge for a NC.

WILLIE TAGGART has proven his teams are money on the road. Taggart was head coach at
Western Kentucky from 2010-2012 and has been the head coach at South Florida the past
three seasons. During Taggart's six seasons as a head coach, he is 26-7-1 against the spread
in away games. Not a misprint...his teams have covered in 26 of 33 (78%) road games.

Overall, he is 43-25-2 (63%) ATS as a head coach.

I'll have to go back and look at my records, but I think Taggart's WKU team is the only team other than Utah St to win 8 games ATS 3 years in a row in the last 10 years. I've never seen any other teams do that. It's hard as hell to win 8 or more games 2 years in a row, much less three years straight. His teams are 7-4 ATS away the last two years thanks to USF's remarkable 10-2 ATS run last year. The only warning I would give bettors with USF's team this season is double digit ATS winners seldom come back the next year with better than a .500 ATS record. There's nothing scientific about it, it's just what I've kept track of for the last 10 years, and that's usually how it turns out. . It's very tough to repeat that kind of season, especially with the bigger programs who have more money wagered on them. The chemistry is never the same as the year before, and most importantly the public is "on to them" and they're no longer flying under the radar..

Teams that went 10-2 ATS in 2014

Western Michigan 10-2
La Tech 10-2
TCU 10-2

Their ATS records in 2015:

WMU 6-6
La Tech 6-6
TCU 6-6

All three teams actually did a little better than most teams in the past have done after a great season. But 6-6 is usually about the max. I think I've seen a couple 7 win seasons after a DD win season. But I can count them on one hand the last 10 years...

Cal landed Demetrius Robertson this past weekend. He is a 5* stud wr from Savannah GA. I thought he was all UGA at the point of commitment, but he chose to go cross country. Probably to get away from his controlling brother. This whole recruitment and commitment with him has been a shit show. He wanted to go to Stanford all along but couldnt make the test score. I am sure Cals coach had to pull some strings because they are not exactly a slouch when academic standards are discussed.

Big 12 Told To Expand

The Big 12 recently hired a Chicago based firm, Navigate Research to determine what would
be the best course of action for the conference in regards to their football programs. After some
40,000 potential scenarios were run, the company told the Big 12 that expansion to 12 teams
and a conference championship game was the way to go. Now it's up to the Big 12 presidents
to determine what to do. A decision by the end of summer is hoped for by the league. (BD)

Trouble at UAB?

Following a story in AL.com alleging friction between UAB AD Mark Ingram and Bill Clark, the school released a series of statements.
In them, Ingram said they have a good relationship, and Clark said they are on the same page.

"My job as the director of athletics is to provide oversight consistent and in alignment with UAB's values,” Ingram said. “My staff and I work closely with Coach Clark and his team on a daily basis to provide the necessary resources to serve our student-athletes and provide them with a world-class college experience. We are encouraged by the success we have enjoyed in a variety of areas since the reinstatement of the program.”

Is the Big 12 expanding or not? The league hired an analytics firm and determined…
The best model to put a team in the College Football Playoff is a 12-team league with 8 conference games and a title game.

The Big 12 currently has 10 teams, 9 games and no title game. No Power 5 conference actually has the favored model. Does this mean Big 12 expansion? It’s a question we’re going to keep asking until it happens.

Who will be the two teams? Houston? Memphis?

Coach, NONE of the coaches including FB coach Bill Clark at UAB give a shit
about the UAB AD. He will either change his style or be canned. UAB will
not fire all of their coaches.

Guy is a dickhead....days are numbered.

At this point they would probably go after Cincy and Houston. But neither of these teams add value to the conference. The only two programs that would add value are FSU and Clemson. And I don't think they are coming. Everything comes down to Boren. He has been a weak little pussy so far. If he once again talks the rest of the conference into taking it in the ass by Texas, then it's going to be the same old shit fest. What pisses me off more than anything is Texas acts like nobody has options. I guarantee you OU has options. Where would the rest of the conference be without OU? They would fold like a cheap lawn chair if they were to leave. Or become Conference USA!

Eastern Michigan

Should Eastern Michigan drop its football program or move down to Division two or three? The
answer from this writer is they should move down to Division II like Idaho recently did. The
belief is the FB program will never succeed from an attendance or financial standpoint. The
faculty and students are tired of paying to support the team. Since 2000, the Eagles have
compiled a 40-136 record. The best record during that time was 6-6 with the rest all losing
seasons. Yes, Eastern Michigan needs to make a decision on their football program and SOON!

I agree they should move down (but to 1AA/FCS...not Division II). There are too many D1/FBS teams that are struggling and simply can't keep up to succeed at the D1 level. With the new "stipends", families being able to go on recruiting visits (paid for by the colleges), new dorms/amenities you need to be able to recruit...etc. These smaller schools can't keep up. Hell, Saban has been plucking COACHES from Troy, UAB, South Alabama and other similar type programs to be "analysts" at Alabama (they are leaving their coaching jobs at these smaller schools...where they are making $65K to be the DB coach to go to Bama to be an 'analyst" where they aren't even a "on field coach").

College football is about the "have's and have not's". Schools like Boise can compete because they beat up on the Eastern Michigan and Idaho type schools to pad their records. There should be a scaling down of D1 programs. Maybe dropping under 110 programs.

Nevada will play Northwestern in 2017, giving it payout games of at least $1 million in 2015, 2016 and 2017.

The Wolfpack will get $1.2 million for the trip to Evanston, after $1.5 million at Texas A&M last year and $1 million at Notre Dame this year. At what point will we reach a $2 million payout game? With the Big Ten eliminating FCS games, costs are going up.

Early schedule looks weak , so if might be fools gold with early blowout wins..alot of skill players on offense so if QB clicks watch out ..If Adams doesn't get hurt LY early , we might have made a playoff run..also , secondary was awful last year, to young , to many mistskes..experience should help...as far as this QB transfer stuff , I believe this is scaring top recruits away, but to be honest why would you be afraid of competing against a 1 year player. .you might just beat the guy out , or be next in line the following year if you're showing everyone you should have the job.. it shouldn't matter who you are competing against...times are different

Big 12 Rift

According to the Cincinnati Enquirer, it is believed that seven schools are in favor
of adding more schools to the conference, with Texas as the main opposer. The
paper reports that Texas is trying to convince TCU and Texas Tech to vote against
expansion, leaving the league short of the numbers it needs. What the XXXX is
Texas problem. Me...Me....Me...screw'em!

With Cincinnati, Central Florida, Houston, Memphis and BYU all expressing interest in
joining the Big 12...maybe the conference should consider dropping Kansas and allowing
a more competitive FB school. The Jayhawks are 3-57 straight up in their last 60 Big 12
conference games.

Kansas does have game in the hoops department through...otherwise, why would the
league want them?

Texas Tech dismissed 3 players today. A couple second string offensive linemen. But they also kicked Dakota Allen off the team. I remember he was recruited by OU. He was Tech's leading tackler and linebacker returning this year, off about the worst rushing defense in the country. So this is apparently what happened:

" All three of these boneheads are involved in a burglary of a known drug dealer's house where a safe was taken. Thinking it had cash and dope, instead it had stolen guns, and they sold them to some undercover cops. This is something that has been going for a couple of months as the undercovers started tracking them to see if it led to bigger fish. It didn't pan out and these clowns are facing serious state and fed charges."
