Early schedule looks weak , so if might be fools gold with early blowout wins..alot of skill players on offense so if QB clicks watch out ..If Adams doesn't get hurt LY early , we might have made a playoff run..also , secondary was awful last year, to young , to many mistskes..experience should help...as far as this QB transfer stuff , I believe this is scaring top recruits away, but to be honest why would you be afraid of competing against a 1 year player. .you might just beat the guy out , or be next in line the following year if you're showing everyone you should have the job.. it shouldn't matter who you are competing against...times are different

What should be scary about Oregon is their awful defense. When you have the worst defense in the conference and give up
485 yards per game...you got problems. New DC Brady Hoke has just 4 starters back from the nation's 117th ranked team
in total defense. Having to play a lot of new starters is probably a blessing for Hoke, especially when you consider how bad
last season's unit was. The Ducks have some serious issues on defense!

Washington State - For the first time since 1999, the Cougars will play seven home
games at Martin Stadium. Mike Leach and players will welcome Eastern Washington,
Idaho, Oregon, UCLA, Arizona, Cal and Washington. WSU will travel to Boise State,
Stanford, Arizona State, Oregon State and Colorado. Leach has taken the Cougars
to a bowl in two of the past three season.

Wisconsin - Bet you didn't know that the Badgers are 10-0 straight up and 9-1 against
the spread their last ten games against Purdue. The ATS loss came last year where they
beat Purdue 24-7 but didn't cover the 23 point spread.

Another good run for Wisconsin is after an open date. With rest, they are 9-1 against the
spread with the loss coming last year against Northwestern losing 13-7.

Notre Dame - Outside of Alabama, perhaps no program is succeeding at a higher
rate with offensive linemen prospects than Notre Dame. The Irish followed a
strong 2016 haul up front with an early commitment from 4-star Pennsylvania
tackle Joshua Lugg, and remain a strong contender for 5-star Foster Sarell (Wash),
Trey Smith (Tenn) and Austin Decalius (Texas). Also, Brock Wright (TX) the No. 1
tight end recruit has committed to Notre Dame. The 2016 class included 4-star tackle
Tommy Kraemer, 4-star tackle Laim Eichenberg, and 4-star guard Parker Boudreaux.

Things could be much tougher for Wisky to cover those spreads this year. I expect this team to regress somewhat this year from their usual 9-10 win seasons. They just face too tough of a gauntlet of a schedule. They lose QB Stave, who may have had his problems at times, but was a very capable signal caller. They also have to replace WR Erickson, who was their most dangerous weapon. Wisky's run game should be better if Clement can stay healthy. But on defense they lose most of their secondary and their best LB. And they lose DC Aranda, who is now LSU's DC. If I was going to bet Wisky this season, I would rather bet them as a dog than a favorite. Especially breaking in a new QB and sticking more to the running game. With their tough schedule they should be dogs in at least 6 or more games this season. Those will be your best betting opportunities in my opinion...

Texas - The University of Texas is set to give three assistant football coaches large pay
raises with the Longhorns coming off two straight losing seasons. The biggest raise
would go to defensive line coach Brick Haley, whose guaranteed annual salary would
soar from $225,000 to $495,000. Haley was reportedly pursued by Texas A&M. Tight
Ends and Special Teams coach Jeff Traylor would get a boost from $245,000 to #350,000.
Strength coach Pat Moorer's salary would increase from $330,000 to $350,000. Should
coaches at Texas expect a pay raise after a third losing season..................?

With satellite camps legal again, Jim Harbaugh is going all-out. And I mean all-out.

Michigan’s staff is now scheduled to take part in 26 camps from June 2-25, before the June 27 dead period. The camps cover 15 different states. The staff is booked for multiple camps on the same day, so assistants will likely be split up.

Michigan spent about $212,000 for a handful of camps last summer. That number will go up by a whole lot.

Coaches salaries are completely out of control. And what has ANY coach at Texas done to deserve a pay raise?

Pittsburgh - Pitt, who is and will always be a distant third in regional interest to the Steelers
and Penn State, needs a coach who wants to be there. Dave Wannstedt was fired after
successive 9-4, 10-3, and 7-5 seasons, finishing no worse than tied for second in the Big
East those three years. Following Wannstedt's dismissal, the Panthers hired Mike Haywood
who they fired after two weeks for domestic violence. Todd Graham then left after one year
for Arizona State. Then came two years of Paul Chryst, who left for Wisconsin. Enter Pat
Narduzzi who was Michigan State's defensive coordinator for seven years. Narduzzi posted
an 8-5 season including a 6-2 conference record and a trip to the Military Bowl where they
lost to Navy. Entering the 2016 season, Narduzzi looks to have a good base with 15 starters
returning. I guess the question might be...with any level of success, can Pitt keep Narduzzi
from leaving when a Big Ten opening occurs?

Why did Scott Frost take a head coaching job for an 0-12 program? Because he knows it can win, as evidenced by recent years.

“I think one of the key things is wanting to be a coach without being desperate to be,” he told USA Today. “I've seen a lot of people that have been in a hurry to be a head coach and they take jobs that are hard, jobs where it's hard to win. Those guys are at a place for three years, four years, and it doesn't work and they may never get another chance.

“I've had some opportunities, but I wanted to go to the right place. I wanted to go a place that I felt that if I could do a good job and the staff does a good job, that we would have a real chance to win. This one came open and I looked at this with the second largest university in the country, a great recruiting area, up and coming school in a beautiful city. I think this is one of the places that if you do it the right way, you've got a good chance at winning.”

Illinois - The Fighting Illini featured the third-best passing offense in the Big Ten last season,
with nearly 250 yards per game through the air. Quarterback Wes Lunt set or tied career
marks for passing yards (2,761) and passing touchdowns (14) last season. Five offensive
linemen started ever game last year. The group allowed just 20 sacks in 2015 - down from
37 the previous season. Center Joe Spencer anchors a line next season that must deal with
the departures of Ted Karras and Chris Boles. While the passing game enjoyed some success
during 2015, the rushing game was terrible finishing last in the conference. The defense returns
six starters but has some big holes to fill especially in the secondary.

Sidenote: Illinois is 6-32 straight up and 13-25 against the spread in the last 38 Big Ten games.

face)(*^% It is proposed that defensive line coach Brick Haley's salary will jump from $235,000 to $495,000 annually with the possibility his base salary would move to as high as $515,000 for an additional season. Haley, who joined Texas' staff in February of 2015, originally had a two-year contract. Haley can also earn up to $185,000 annually in incentive compensation. face)(*^%

WASHINGTON was just 7-6 last year, but the Huskies were a pretty interesting
team. Only the Stanford loss was a true blowout, and Washington managed to
beat a talented Southern Cal team, and finished the season with a good deal of
momentum, blowing out Oregon State and a good Washington State team, and
beating Southern Miss 44-31 in the bowl game. The Pac 12 is a tough league,
but things line up pretty well for Washington, which could be ready for a break-
out year. All three non-conference games are at home and Stanford and USC
will have to travel to Seattle. The Huskies should jump out to 3-0 and may be a
surprise team in the Pac 12 North this season. We shall see................

NORTH DAKOTA STATE has a 5-0 record against Football Bowl Subdivision schools since
2010, beating Iowa State, Kansas State, Colorado State, Minnesota and Kansas. Yes they
lose a first round quarterback in Carson Wentz but while he was injured last year, freshman
Easton Stick led NDS to eight wins helping the program win its fifth straight national title.
This season they will try to keep the streak going with a September 19 visit to the Iowa
Hawkeyes.

KANSAS STATE - For the fourth straight season, the Wildcats will have the same ten full
time coaches. It's a staff that brings 253 years of combined coaching experience to the
field and continuity like that has propelled head coach Bill Snyder to 193 career wins with
K-State. Snyder will turn 77 years old in October and will go down as one of the best
coaches in CFB history.

Kansas State bettors love Coach Snyder, especially the past five years where the Wildcats
have been a money winner going 31-13 against the spread in Big 12 Conference play. A
cool 70 percent chicken dinner!

Keeping the same staff together is usually a good formula for success. It makes the head coach look good. But it's not easy to do with most major P5 programs. One year of huge success and you usually lose one or two assistants these days.
