damn "joe" -had some shit to get off your chest huh? - I'll set a little time aside for ya
you don'treally want to debate we me....I am a "kook" remember?
FWIW I agree with pretty much everything you posted
turns out the classic war of "good" versus "evil" is not a myth....like the sidetracked school children in the US are taught. Which leads to the real problem: Education
Of course, I agree 100% with you, jdog --
PUBLIC education.
Providing children with state-funded education is a concept straight out of Hitler's Third Reich.
Folks, please understand something: what the left and their special interests fund, they control -- hence the reason D2 touched on that our children can no longer read, write or perform basic arithmetic.
hno:
Our children aren't being taught these imperative skills, let alone the history of this great republic, let alone the Solomonic wisdom embodied by the framers, let alone how to balance a budget and interact socially with their peers; let alone the humble values one can absorb from the teachings in the Bible.
The result of this failed experiment liberals pompously hail as a "proper education" has been generation after generation of BROKEN people. Not 'bad' or 'evil' people, mind you...just very BROKEN -- at least broken enough to warrant layer upon layer of socialism.
Broken, disheartened, angry, misguided, depressed, helpless, childish, intoxicated, celeb-induced...name a negative character trait and it's there.
That the vast majority cannot humbly, objectively see the roots of our cultural and economic decay is painfully obvious in the fact that half the country now believes BIGGER government can cure BROKEN government; that the toxicity of secularism is the path to longterm happiness and enlightenment; and this rather disturbing celeb-rotten "cult worship" ongoing for one Sen. B Hussein Obama -- the great Messiah who will bring us back from the last 50 years of stupidity, socialism and moral decay with -- even MORE stupidity, socialism and moral decay.
I have lived, Sir, a long time, and the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth, that God governs in the affairs of men. And if a a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without his aid? We have been assured, Sir, in the Sacred Writings, that "except the Lord build the House, they labor in vain that build it." I firmly believe this; and I also believe that without His concurring aid we shall succeed in this political building no better, than the Builders of Babel: We shall be divided by our partial local interests; our projects will be confounded, and we ourselves shall become a reproach and bye word down to future ages. And what is worse, mankind may hereafter from this unfortunate instance, despair of establishing governments by human wisdom and leave it to chance, war and conquest.
I therefore beg leave to move that henceforth prayers imploring the assistance of Heaven, and its blessings on our deliberations be held in this Assembly every morning before we proceed to business, and that one or more of the clergy of this city be requested to officiate in that service.
-- Benjamin Franklin
In the beginning of the world...the all-bountiful creator gave to man, “dominion over all the earth; and over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.” This is the only true and solid foundation of man’s dominion over external things, whatever airy metaphysical notions may have been started by fanciful writers upon this subject. The earth therefore, and all things therein, are the general property of all mankind, exclusive of other beings, from the immediate gift of the creator.
Man, considered as a creature, must necessarily be subject to the laws of his creator, for he is entirely a dependent being. A being independent of any other has no rule to pursue but such as he prescribes to himself; but a state of dependence will inevitably oblige the inferior to take the will of Him on whom he depends as the rule of his conduct... And consequently, as man depends absolutely upon his Maker for everything, it is necessary that he should in all points conform to his Maker’s will. This will of his maker is called the law of nature.... This law of nature, being coeval with mankind and dictated by God Himself, is of course superior in obligation to any other. It is binding over all the globe, in all countries, and at all times: no human laws are of any validity if contrary to this; and such of them as are valid derive all their force and all their authority, mediately or immediately, from this original.
The creator has laid down only such laws as were founded in those relations of justice that existed in the nature of things antecedent to any positive precept human law. These are the eternal, immutable laws of good and evil, to which... He has enabled human reason to discover so far as they are necessary for the conduct of human actions. Such among others are these principles: that we should live honestly, should hurt nobody, and should render to every one his due....
-- William Blackstone
Our Heavenly Father,
We bow our heads in shame and ask for your forgiveness. We ask you to forgive us for our ignorance and arrogance -- "progressive" secularism. Bless us with the gifts you have bestowed upon this great Republic since 1776 when our framers unanimously declared YOU were the all-knowing Creator who granted us -- indeed, all humanity -- the RIGHT to "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness."
Led by our new President and new Congress, in 2009, We The People shall renew our pledge to humble ourselves before you....that you will guide us through times perilous as well as prosperous...that YOUR values will triumph over the idiocy of modern humanism...that good will always triumph over evil -- as it has throughout American history -- and that this great experiment in human freedom will endure not only above the fruited plain, but all across the world, for all of your beautiful children inhabiting our beautiful planet.
God Bless the United States of America!
Your humble servant,
Joe C.
PS -- I know you're busy, but if it's not too much to ask, please send us another Ronald Wilson Reagan!
