Presidents don't usually have their henchmen chasing down people in the media either, I guess they don't have anything better to do?

...then perhaps Rush should have said this instead of challenging Obama to a debate. The point stands---if Limbaugh wants to debate Obama he will get the chance if he gets the nomination in 2012. Go ahead and run Rush! I will vote for him in the primary! :):):):):):)

Please, it was brilliant! Rush has nothing to lose here, and a ton of ratings to gain.

Yep. Rush has ratings to gain among fools that are willing to listen to him. But your concession that he is not being serious tells why he will never get to debate Obama. If he was serious he would run for President and actually attempt to gain some sort of real political power beyond his radio booth. Of course he is not serious because he is a comedian that intends to do nothing more than entertain us all and line his own pockets with money. :103631605

Why run? He makes more money than politicians, and gets to sleep at night with a clear conscious.
As for the fools that listen to him, I'd bet he's got a ton of liberals listening to him because they hate him. (that, and liberal talk show hosts make you want to go to sleep or jump off a bridge.)

so you're saying he has no "real political power"? hmm, then why is your president so interested in him? @)

as far as why he would not run for president? that's pretty easy...

HE MAKES $38M PER YEAR!!!!

Your point assumes that he only cares about money and that he does not really care about what he is saying. Doesn't Limbaugh care about this country enough to run? Has nobody of wealth ever run before? The reason why Rush will never run for President is because Rush knows that he could never get elected. :ohno:

Limbaugh's political power is not even close to being enough to win the presidency. He controls a share of the Republican voters. Again, let me ask does Rush not really care about the policies that he rants about every day? Are you just admitting that he is an entertainer that would not give up his day job to actually make the difference he claims that he wants? It seems to that a true American would give up $38 million per year if they could get this country out of the mess it is in---and just think of the payoff on the back end of a presidency. Please---the reason why Rush does not run is because he knows he has zero chance of winning. The guy is a great comedian--I will give him that....but I don't think Obama or any other President is going to be debating a comedian any time soon. Sorry. :):)

Campbell Brown Challenged Rush To Debate Last Month, He Didn't Show

<!-- Chicklets -->
In the wake of Rush Limbaugh challenging President Barack Obama to a debate, it has been pointed out to me that before the radio host steps up to face the president, he might want to clear his dance card of some earlier debate challenges. Perhaps he has forgotten, but Limbaugh already has a standing challenge from CNN's banisher of "bias" and "bull" Campbell Brown, to appear on the air and debate their chief business correspondent, Ali Velshi, who Limbaugh had previously maligned.
Oh, and here's some trash talk from a Democratic party operative, who writes, "Just saying...if you cant stand up to Campbell, you shouldn't be calling Rahm effeminate and calling out the President."

* Since the first of the year, Rush Limbaugh's audience has exploded , according to Howard Kurtz of The Washington Post, even as his daily assaults on Obama have intensified. The conservative Talk Radio maestro has become quite possibly the most listened-to radio personality in America since before Paul Harvey (God rest his soul). Demand for his air time hs suddenly become so intense, Limbaugh told The Examiner's Byron York earlier today, that his network sold 80 percent as much advertising in January 2009 as it did in all of 2008, and expects to sell-out the year by the end of March. That was before Obama and White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel launched an explicit counter-attack against Limbaugh that seems only to be making him bigger.

Limbaugh: My Ratings are Way, Way Up
DC EXAMINER
POSTED March 6, 2009 | 11:08 AM

By BYRON YORK
Chief Political Correspondent

One side effect of the Democratic campaign against Rush Limbaugh has been to increase -- dramatically increase -- the talk show host's ratings. This morning I asked Rush if he had any numbers he could share on just what effect the increased visibility has had on his business. This is his response:

The latest numbers I have are for January, well before this kerfuffle began, and they are through the roof -- six shares in NY, for example. There are daily ratings taken now in about the top 15 markets but I have not seen them yet. All I can tell you is that as of January, we booked 80 percent of all our 2008 revenue and we'll be over 2008 by the end of this month.

Given those numbers, it's clear that the most decisive economic stimulus produced by the Obama administration so far has been at the Excellence in Broadcasting Network.

The fact that Rush, Sean and Ann have become the voices of the GOP is an insight into what a den of snakes they have become.

All of those guys combined do not equal the influence that Rush has.

And to put Sean Penn in that group like he's a mainstream Dem is laughable.

You have to remember Punter gets his news from a washed up ESPN announcer...that explains a lot right there.

Right punty? :103631605

Great for him. However, it still does not mean that there are enough fools in this country to vote Rush into office....so I guess he should enjoy his money and being famous among people that are not cool. The rest of his will just keep laughing at him when he says that he wants to debate the President. :dancefool
