First will come widespread civil unrest caused by massive unemployment and rampant inflation resulting from the government printing presses belching trillions of dollars like there was no tomorrow (and one of these days, there won't be a tomorrow).
Not to mention what would happen if the narco Mexican state totally collapses such that the government IS the cartels. Millions of "refugees" would flood across the border. Given the current plan to grant amnesty to those already here, and let them then compete for jobs with citizens, the additional millions would clearly get similar treatment. There will then be a separate "civil war" between the newly franchised Hispanics and lower economic class Americans who see their unemployment rate go through the roof. I foresee this conflict even if Mexico doesn't collapse.
Next, those who are armed and realize who was responsible (or rather, irresponsible) for the destruction of this country will take their revenge. That is the revolution I am speaking of. It will be spontaneous, not organized, but the result will be the same. There will be many instances of unconnected and isolated retribution. You are already seeing organized protests like the many Tea Parties and the AIG executive bus tours. This is the non-violent beginning which will eventually lead to violent conflict.
Those in the military and police forces will have to choose sides. Will they enforce a continued goverment oppression or will they do the right thing and join the revolution? Like the Civil War, families will be split.
There are forces at work in Washington that will further worsen the situation on many levels and hasten the inevitable.
When that time comes, you will wish you were armed.
