Plenty of doubt on who's the better team. They each of their advantages.

The Patriots needed some sort of running game to neutralize the pass rush. They don't have one at all.

The game was obviously too big for Denver's Hillman and Thomas what a weak performance they both put up.

Peyton's 2 sacks where he spun backwards and lost 14 yards were bad. 1 play I thought was big but didn't get commented on by the 2 cheerleaders calling the game was when the Pats punted from their endzone and the returner didn't try and field the ball and let it bounce 15 yards backwards. Denver got nothing out of that drive.

Nantz not knowing that Denver could return the intercepted 2pt play for points, he called it "meaningless" was pretty awful.

"The Broncos Are Just the Better Team". So let me get this straight, Den. has a better D?, NE OL is as bad as the Vikes (true), NE has no run game, Den.home field, Brady worst day EVER, & the best kicker in the gm misses an XP!! Does that about sum it up, Defying & Illini?? Then please explain to me how Tommy boy brought his tm down there w/2 mins to play and almost won the fucking game?? W/all these advantages should have been a 4 TD lead for the King of Chokers!!! Neutral field NE 7 of 10!! BTW TB is still the GOAT!!!

Broncos are a more balanced team.
Patriots need a running game. At Brady's age he can't do it all by himself any longer.

Very true!! I like BB a lot, but think he has a stubborn streak that at times really hurts the tm. They MUST improve their OL, and need a deep threat @ WR, Gronk is not the answer as great as he is. He can't keep letting DB's go as if they don't matter. They need some small asjustments on D, DB is one. BTW Mayo was out for this one & they shut Den. down in the 2nd H. Yes they do need a run gm, but the OL would help.

Wait, Patriots fans are whining about this thread. He told you to stop whining, and your response was to call him a whiner?

Only at the RX and only with Pats fans. Y'all really are the fucking worst.

"No doubt about it?"

Huh? If Gostkowski doesn't miss a 499/500 extra point (ending a 9 year streak), the game is tied in regulation.

Seems like there's a lot of doubt there to me?

I LOVE people who act like when something happens early on-like a mixed extra point-that means everything that subsequently happened would have also happened either way("tied in regulation"). You DO realize the game could've been played entire differently, don't you? No, you probably don't, you're festering shit.

The game wouldn't have been played differently though. Most of the time it would, but in this particular situation it was the same. 7pt lead vs 8pt lead didn't change any playcalling, strategy or game management.

Spot on. Sometimes, justice is served, and the cheating, oft choking Pats got their just desserts. I wonder how many teams have won Conference championships despite scoring only 3 points in the entire second half?

And how would YOU know that? You're gonna sit there with a straight face and say you know what the play calling would've been for both teams, offensively and defensively?!?! Next case....

Why would you play differently based on an 8pt lead vs a 7pt lead? Either way you need a TD.

If they scored the TD earlier then the time left would effect if you go for 2 or not and then the XP doesn't quite loom as large, but that didn't happen.

Well, let's see: even with the rule change, extra points are still made at a very high rate, whereas 2 point tries are probably slightly over 50%. On the last drive, knowing that your team has, in effect, two bites of the apple to win the game-which is exactly what happened for Denver-it could definitely change how closely a DB plays his man. Do I know that for a fact? No, but neither do YOU know otherwise, and to try and pretend that you do is stupid.
