A few games are fixed, refs told by NFL to favor a team, the players not involved. A few players collude to lose a game sometimes I’m sure.

These days QBs and most players make so much money they do not need to fix a game.

The “Vegas fixes everything from a secret room” crap is ridiculous.

The “NFL is entertainment like wrestling” so they can fix games argument is nonsense, give me a break.

Basically this, only thing I’d say is I don’t think refs outright say to the nfl to favor a team.

It’s more like “watch for XYZ” knowing what that means or assigning refs that will watch for XYZ. Stern used to be the king of this in his prike obviously

No ref has EVER been told (this day in age) to make calls for a certain team. It's beyond ridiculous. (like the NFL gives 2 shits who wins at this point in time)

good lord this forum is idiotic. Even the "smart ones" are boarder line.

What you DON'T seem to understand is WHY those square books were shading numbers on certain games in the first place - about 3-5 games avg religiously every week in the NFL

It wasn't just the obvious "Joe Public" teams, ie Cowboys, Niners etc.

Sure, you may have calculated the (+EV) in Excel with a large sample of data, any monkey can do that with those juicy lines, but there is a lot more to it than that.

That's why I'm Next Level and was blessed with the Vegas/Offshore contacts I had - and you don't. LOL

I THINK differently... that's why the usual rubes call me "crazy" and "out there"

Call it "rigged", call it "inside info" (QB had a horrible fight with the gf, OL missed their curfew etc.)...call whatever the hell you want. I wasn't in the locker rooms, so I didn't know the exact circumstances of every game..

What I CAN say, unequivocally, is there are games on the board you have ZERO chance of winning without inside information, other than blindly betting on the winning team for infinite unrelated reasons.

"Kiddo"

meh but I never said the way steam works is always known, obviously sometimes it isn’t. Here is your issue though, how steam happens is a different argument than saying the season starts with a script man.

You can’t see the clear delineation there?

Also re the square books I mean it was mostly public island game favs. Or favs because action was heavy on one side. Especially with the Bo dog/SIAs of the world.

That’s a bit different than taking seriously a facetious Arian foster interview seriously but whatever

Refs by NFL standards are low level employees. Like i am going to ask my low level employee to do something that could cost me my entire multi-billion dollar business. "Hey we really need the 49ers to win this game make sure to lean your calls towards them."

Exactly

unless you’re the type who vicariously lives through some dude half your age worth 200x more than you, who cares? Just shut off the TV

how hard is that? It’s an athletic exhibition
?

Entertainment… I bitch about both sides but it all comes down to what’s on paper does not always play out… Have to say
.The hazing death of Baruch fraternity pledge Michael Deng was 'an active cover up,' prosecutor says. Another angle not angel… lol

Horse Racing was/is easier to fix…. Let’s see how tonight’s game plays out. If you have Amazon… LOL

Go Reds!

Just like that fired NBA ref that swore the games were rigged. Yet couldn't produce even the slightest evidence when given an open forum by the media to speak---yet the NBA asked him to rig numerous games. LOL

The notion the “casino” is fixing games is beyond ridiculous. The average Vegas Sportsbook profit on NFL wagering isn’t even a page one line item on their financial forecasts. It’s not even a discussion topic during hours on end of discussions, forecasting, modeling, budgeting, etc. You’re more likely to come across a linen or glassware scandal, that might actually get their attention.

Casinos hardly care about their sports books. They understand the -110 on each side will handle itself. They care about pro sports bettors like they care about pro card counters----keep them out rest will handle itself.

They cater to the gambler that has to be in action 24/7 with the table games and slots. They aren't going to risk their shit either over rigging US professional sports. Like Caesars and the NFL are going to sit down to make sure the Carolina Panthers win Sunday. Just unreal how stupid.

To think that they cannot make that happen if they need to is also stupid.

Like i have stated before----You guys all reminded me of the idiot at my local casino that swears if you put money into the automated craps game during a players role that the machine is rigged to 7 out...Yet every time i do it and laugh at him as he starts to hyperventilate. lol

The question i ask him, if you really believe this bet on the 7. But nope he can't do that either.

Sex, drunk driving and gambling all have one thing in common----the person doing it thinks they are the best when in reality they are very much average.

People when given a questionnaire when asked to rate their intelligence---2/3 believed they had above average intelligence.
