Only benefit of this is we see some smaller markets get some love
The East teams weren't very good, most of those years I'd say the other top 4-5 teams in the league played in the West. Which is a big reason LeBron is so polarizing, because he had a ton of series that he was absolutely 100% supposed to win and a ton of series where he was kinda drawing pretty slim, thus despite the fact he played forever he was in very few competitive series in his career since going to Miami.
