Russ, Thanks for the info. It will take me awhile to digest it.
I have one question so far and that is what did you mean when you wrote
"So that confirms my conclusion from last year’s off season thread that teams that fall from the AP preseason top 25 are bet against teams and teams that replace them are bet on teams."
My question is at what point do you bet against and what point do you bet for the teams?
Thanks again. Your thread will keep me busy till the season starts. I'm already going into withdrawal. :)

That is a combination of preparation, anticipation, and observation. I spend the off season looking for sleepers or underrated teams. On week one and all thru Sept I watch for signs that teams are overrated or underrated. I anticipate some teams who will fall observe them and carefully evaluate their performances ATS. Teams will pop out early and if you are already prepared for that and are already watching certain teams then you are one step up. I will throw out some teams that I think might fall along with some who might replace them just prior to the open of the season. I always wait for the AP top 25 to be announced but by then I have already done my homework. I will kick certain teams around on this thread and look for input and discussion on teams I think could be break through teams. Every year about 9 teams that are in the AP preseason top 25 fall. We will kick that around also. Meanwhile, I will go slow with this thread and yes withdrawal is in full gear. BOL

Last question and thanks for responding to my earlier one.
Based on this post, does that mean you don't bet the first couple of weeks into the season?

Russ, good stuff. I'll try to stop by occasionally are read/post. Lost interest this year and have very little hope of improvement with Will Muschamp still in charge....

Bleacher Report projected Florida as the #1 defense in the nation for 2014. You never know. BOL

No. I am a little slower on the draw though. As a rule if you can get through Sept the rest of the season falls into place a little easier. Even top 25 preseason picks that might not last start out playing lesser knowns. If they play the lesser knowns and can't win ATS that can be sign of things to come. Not always but worth monitoring.

Bleacher Report isn't "journalism". UF lost 6 starters and several key reserves. Only return 2 DTs w/ game experience....the rest are all freshman (redshirt and true). Bullard and Fowler are stars and so is Hargraves in the secondary. The LBs are solid, but other than that, a lot of new faces.

I just hope the new OC knows what he's doing. The O has been pathetic for 4 years now (Meyer's last and all 3 of Muschamp's)...

No doubt about that. The SEC is beginning to evolve offensively and Texas A&M, Mizzou, and Auburn are starting to set some high standards in that department. You have to be able to score now a days.

Check out philsteele.com's blog 1-23-2014. It lists the returning starters of all the teams for 2014 and then rates them by conference. Worth checking out.

Still running Coach or have you gotten fat and lazy.

Just a hunch...I'd go 20 to 1 you are still pounding the pavements.

For the CFB forum: This dude runs marathons.

CL, still running....but not as much. Last year was my first year under 2000 miles since 2005 (I got in just over 1900 miles). I had some injuries (achilles tendon and foot injury). I've been running really easy the last 3 months (going a lot slower than I usually run). I got in 147 miles in January. I did the Philly Marathon in November (ran a painful 3:18, after running the first half in 1:29). That's where I think I got a stress fracture in my foot. I'm trying to add to my 50 states goal this summer (I'm going to run either Utah or Montana....I've run one in 11 states....so not sure if I'll ever reach the 50 states goal). Thanks for asking! How is life treating you? In other news, I'm dating a smoking hot blonde 10 years younger than me!!!

CL, she's run w/ me a few times. She likes to exercise solo though (very hot body!). I've pulled some hot chicks in my day, but this one is legit!!
