In the articles I’ve read on this today he has been described as “neurologically intact”. This is a big deal and means his odds of meaningful survival have gone up dramatically. Usually after CPR it is the anoxic (no oxygen) brain injury that kills people. Usually folks get cooled for 24 hours and kept in a coma to reduce the odds of brain damage from free radicals formed during the anoxic period. If he’s neurologically intact, then he has something to fight for and I’ll put some money down (assuming the “neurologically intact” part is true) without ever seeing him that he walks out of the hospital in the not too distant future.
