This game has been on my mind non stop. All that I can think about. I am glad today is the day so I can get back to thinking about other things. I think Pep learned attacking from the wings, which is what Bayern is best at doing....doesn't really work against Atletico. He tried to bring pace in leg 1 but that wing pace backfired. Today I expect a lot more possession from Bayern, more slow pace ball to carefully pick out crosses. I think Bayern throws the kitchen sink at Atletico today. They have to. This is the 3rd year in a row for Pep's side in the semi final and they were knocked out the previous two by Real Madrid and Barcelona. So all of that experience goes into this game against Atletico....that's scary.
I expect Bayern to score today because it sounds too perfect for Godin to be returning and they hold them shut out again. I think Lewandowski scores today. I see goals. There is no way IMO that Bayern can go 3 semi finals in a row at HOME without scoring a goal. That would be asinine. Pep is already set for Man City after this season so it is safe to say his legacy in Germany will be judged on this game. Diego Simeone is changing the way this game is being played right now. A lot of the older people in soccer hate his tactics and don't believe in them because he keeps winning 1-0. They think that is not sustainable. and it may not be against a Bayern Munich at home fighting for everything. 1-0 probably wont work in this type of game. Especially when you know you have the lead and a chance of let up is possible. But the one thing people are not giving Atletico credit for is their unity. They are a real team compared to Bayern and much deeper than they were two years ago when they lost to Real Madrid in the finals. I got a few bets riding on this one today and one big one

I clearly expect Bayern to score today. It would be too much for them to go 3 semi finals in a row at home against Spanish clubs without scoring. Talk about a tarnished legacy if that happens. And with this being the best defense of the three, it seems maybe possible that they don't. But just like Suarez, Lewandowski is a big striker than score through physicality and is a poacher. I think he has a good chance to find net today for Bayern. But at the same time they are going against the best defense in Europe that hasn't conceded in like 8 games or something crazy. Both lineups are set up for a slugfest. A possible overtime game is in store if Bayern wins 1-0. I wouldn't be surprised
If it goes to overtime. I will favor Atletico in that situation every fucking time over Bayern. Overtime favors Atletico because we are deeper and faster. Only way Bayern gets through is if they win by two goals in regulation and I will be alright with losing my money if that's how Atletico bows out. But I don't see it.
Bayern have the ability to choke like crazy too once they are up and think the game is in their control...it's really not. Even if they are dominating and up 2-0, all we need is one goal and we are through. There's so many possibilities and whatever outcome I see... I see Atletico edging it in the end regardless of what way the game goes.
