Not sure if you guys realize this, but there is a HUGE market for people buying beta-blockers. Its common in most heart medications, but it also has the side effect of making you really mellow and relaxed in high pressure situations like, oh I don't know, swinging a bat in front of thousands???
Most sports federations have banned them, including the Olympics. They're used by virtually every orchestra soloist you've ever heard and I wouldn't be surprised if golfers used them too. I can totally see a scenario where Manny was given a drug that contained a beta-blocker in it.
