Who runs the Niners and gets the pick yeah Shanny and Jones is his and his dads kind of QB

Then what you're saying is you don't believe Shanahan has finally figured out he is a better QB developer than scouter? He drafted Brian Griese (3rd rd), Jay Cutler (11th overall), and RGIII (2nd overall) who were all a disaster which are, I believe, the only 3 QB he drafted as a head coach

forgot about Cousins as he was taken in same draft and nobody understood why you take a franchise qb and then draft another qb a few rounds later. obviously you can't say cousins was his and rg3 wasn't...they both were. and clearly the most successful QB he ever drafted was also the lowest one taken

now back to the other poster who said clearly Fields is his type of qb. Cousins, RGIII, Cutler, and Griese are all the same type? now i'm really confused

Jones will be a solid NFL QB.

Fields, maybe, maybe not.

Lance, maybe, maybe not, a risk for sure.

Jones has the talent and necessities to even be top notch, in the top 8-10 each year by his 2nd or 3rd season, much more likely than Fields or Lance.

Wasn't Haskins also supposed to be all those good things people are saying about Fields? I'm sure Haskins failure is hurting Fields.

No. Fields has had way more hype than Haskins had up to this point in their careers. Starting with the Elite 11 camps. Trevor Lawrence was in that same class and Fields even outclassed him during that event. That QB class was all about Fields and Lawrence. 1A and 1B.

At Elite 11 ( I think it was ) he rated the best QB rating since the beginning of these type of evaluatio0ns on QB ..

Dilfer I think it was, who was on the staff , said he is the best QB prospect in the history of modern QB prospect evaluation

at that camp during the primary showcase event he led his team to a score every single drive , all were TDs except for 1 which was a field goal .. 2nd place was 60 percent scoring drives ( Trevor was at that event also ) so he dominated ..

Tune out the evaluators that have never played the game , and listen to the former players that have evaluated speak about him
it is a massive list ..

is he perfect , of course not , the things he needs to work on are far far from fatal flaws .. his upside is beyond Trevors ..

someone here posted about completipion percentage under pressure .. if that is correct I would say that there is a data breakdown far more compelling about pass attempts on screens .. all the qbs mentioned have taken the layup 30 percent or more of the time , not fields .. he is always hunting the deep route with confidence , there will be more pressure and of course a lower completion percentage yet in style he completes 70 percent of his passes while constantly targeting the home run

as far as recruiting , he was the most highly recruited QB in Gators history since Tebow .. his schools were Fla, ALA, USC and GA

he was/is as great as a prospect that you can hope for as a QB period .. not playing as a freshman and an abbreviated junior year have hurt his stock
vs Trevors

I hear you with Pitts but to give up 2 future number 1 picks? ouch

yeah no way i would have done that either but if they walk up there and take pitts the nfc looks at that team and offense and is immediately taking notice. drafting a qb makes the 49ers no better for this year. drafting pitts id say they immediately become contenders imo. everyone says they have a great roster so i think they should go for it this year. if pitts is a generational talent at TE paired with Kittle thats a scary offense coupled with the running game

Gotta say you make a point worth considering.

Hernandez and Gronk come to mind. That would have been a lethal combo for years had Hernandez not fked up.

I want this to happen in Miami with Pitts and Gelsicki (not saying Gelsicki is elite but is a pretty good receiver) Let Tua throw to his tight ends and he'll be fine

Hilarious shit! Let's not evaluate Fields based on on-the-field metrics like QBR under pressure in 3 years of college football, let's go by what Trent ahem Dilfer said about him during a 3-day camp after his Junior year in high school.

the dilfrer quote was about the comparing Haskins to fields hype thing .. here are plenty of. metrics that show how elite fields is ..

Fields also outclassed him head-to-head. Fields' game in the CFP semifinal was one of the best college games I've seen from a QB ever.

And Fields was way better than Haskins was at OSU.
