Why would you put this out on the open forum? Has nothing to do with it
Of course it has something to do with it.

Defying is clearly retarded. And on top of it, playing a victim here. Which he appears to be to a certain extent. I’m just saying this story doesn’t completely add up. And there might be a lot more to it. And maybe he’s not quite the victim he’s made himself out to be.

Nuts and bolts about this once again are as follows.

The mod obtained a loan under false pretenses that he had the principal in a safety deposit box. This was a lie.

The mod refuses to detail where the money went but strongly wants you to know it wasn't misappropriated. This is a lie.(obviously)

The mod instead of putting illness in the background because it has nothing to do with disappearing cash wants it very very much in the forefront.

We have 0 evidence that the losing of the cash and the illness have anything to do with each other. Maybe the money was lost and the illness come on after. We know the mod was a big smoker perhaps the stress of losing funds with the chain smoking brought on the stroke. Who knows.

The mod wants people to believe he is broke over the illness. While everything in his past was him bragging about fancy comped vegas trips, multiple homes ect, yet mod evidently had 0 health insurance. A stroke at his age(especially with the chain smoking) isn't something out of the blue. He should of had health insurance to offset most of the costs. Which still leads to be believe the money was gambled away(through standard betting or bad short term investments). But that's my opinion and circumstantial.

The mod again is setting a deadline(which he has missed numerous times before) to pay. He can't pay because i do believe the part of him being broke. (though i doubt its because of the illness)I also agree with the posters here that said the lawyer stuff is just throwing good money after bad, it is. If mod could have even afforded $100 a month to keep this stuff off the board he would have...

The poster is highly highly unlikely to ever see his money again, which should have probably entered his mind when lending it out( as a few have stated here). How this site thinks they can minimize the damage and pretend this hasn't occurred and keep him on as a mod is laughable. Though perhaps things are going on behind the scenes for the mod's removal.
If this is true
Then BAS has to go , it just doesn't look good for the rx .
& No way in hell is BAS to be trusted with holding any monies from anyone at the rx !

Most of us have probably been in Defyings shoes loaning out money to a friend or relative. Maybe not to this 30K level..Not a good feeling when it goes south on you. Whatever it takes , hope he gets reimbursed. And BAS comes out of this ok also.

I think we all should mind our own business.
I think you should mind your own business about what business people mind.

This is a forum. And the OP wished to air out some dirty laundry. Well, this is the thread for it. Nobody is forcing you to read or participate in it.

Nope. I don’t give out loans.

If a family or close friend is in a bind, I give them whatever I can to help. It’s not a loan. It’s a gift. No strings attached.

Strings damage relationships. Not interested in even going down that road with close friends or family.

Holy fuck, how did i miss this thread. I should come back here more often. In true shdw form i'm going to ramble random thoughts without reading everything.

1. I'm glad BAS is ok and alive considering the health issues. No one wants physical harm on anyone here.

2. BAS should not get a pass because he is a good mod, a good guy, or in poor health. If me, or any other longtime poster stiffed contest money to the tune of $30k, it would be "WOW" followed by non-stop bashing calling me a POS. This is expected and deserved. I don't care if he blew it on gambling, shopping, medical bills, this is other people's money. Not a loan, not money you can spend freely.

3. Deleting threads is shady AF.

4. I remember when this happened. I even floated the idea of buying the debt. (Pay someone 80% on the prize in hopes of collecting 100% from BAS...that's how much I trusted his liquidity) This shit happened many years ago, well before Biden, well before Covid, probably before the internet. The fact Defy hasn't gotten any money yet is total BS. Anyone who thinks BAS would've paid something small if he could has marbles loose. The debt was so much, any small payment doesn't make a dent and because of that he didn't pay praying it goes away. Knowing it never will.

5. Defying is stupid. But anyone thinks he just did it to be a good person is more stupid. He obviously had intentions of benefitting from this as well. He probably assumed BAS had the money locked up and would get to it when the health was better. And in turn for his kindness, would have the wealthy BAS owe him a favor. He was fooled like the rest of us.

6. The fact there has been no interest on this debt is unfathomable. Defy should demand it and BAS should agree. Obviously you cannot match how much BTC has appreciated....but that is another story. The debt needs to have interest. It should go back to the beginning but at the very least should be applied going forward.

FWIW, if I was backed into a corner like that, I might've done the same thing will access to all the money. I say I would try to pay it back but I don't know until i'm in that situation. But one thing is for sure...if I did it and ppl call me a POS, i would agree. So i'm not saying i'm better than anyone. But feels like the parties have been fooling themselves.

Mr. Green: This is a Sicilian coin. The Sicilian people say, "A big man knows the value of small coin." My friendship is a small coin but it is all I have to offer you.

Since lawyers supposedly got involved in this case, a gag order is now in place ?

again, i haven't read this. but

1) does BAS get paid from RX?
1a) if so, why can't RX direct payments to Defying until the debt is paid off?

BAS already admit the debt AND this was to save Rx faithful from getting stiffed. I'm pretty sure BAS would agree to this as well.

Why would the RX be liable to pay a personal loan?

What happen is this "loan" got a bunch of innocent contest winners paid, saved face for the forum, and kept a mod from having to fake his own death.(who knows how far this guy would have went)
Couldn't have said it better myself ?
