If somehow Michigan and FSU loses this is what it will look like.

Washington
Texas
Alabama
Georgia/OSU

If Michigan and Louisville win or if Michigan and FSU win OSU and Georgia are out. Georgia needs a FSU and Michigan loss or they're out.
Why would Ohio State be in over Michigan in that scenario?

Ohio State would be behind Georgia and Michigan

And I'm an Ohio State fan

Ga is no different than OSU at this point. Both hand 1 loss and both didn't win their conf championship game

Because they would have a loss against a 16th ranked, 2 loss team. OSU dropped 4 spots after a narrow loss to the #3 ranked team

“ The Best” is what the fans want to see

But the committee might puss out and go with “The Deserving” and also be political… no two teams from one conference in the playoffs (sigh)
It isn't "pussing out"
Best team is an opinion and you could have a team with 2 losses and claim they are 1 of the four best. Fuck you could have a team start the season and lose their QB for 5 weeks go 0-5 get him back and win the next 8 all by 40....should they get in at 8-5? You could claim they are really undefeated with their "real" QB What you think you see is always subjective but wins and losses are not. Power 5 undfeated means something. Imagine if they kept them out only to have their back up start and have a great year. You don't know for sure what the QB is anyway.

I thought you were the one to say that an undefeated power 5 conference team is in no matter what?

Like I said earlier, why would the committee have put Florida State back up to #4 if they cared so much about the QB situation?

And why was Alabama #8? Why were them and Texas behind Ohio State?

Beating Georgia is huge, but it's not earth shattering

I can't see ALabama and Georgia both getting in unless both Michigan and Florida State lose
I do think FSU is in with a win, but them getting left out seems to be gaining a lot of traction and they aren’t helping their cause tonight. They certainly aren’t one of the best four teams, but either is Washington.

Not sure the committee knows what the fuck they are doing, best four teams, most deserving, conference strength, strength of schedule, etc., seems to vary from week to week on importance. I actually thought OSU had a decent chance after the Michigan loss, based on their resume, but I guess not.

But Michigan would have same amount of losses plus H2H win
But OSU dropped 4 spots after a 6 point loss that came down to the last possession and in a game in which OSU gave them 7 points. Why wouldn't Michigan drop at least 4 spots with a loss to a 2 loss, 16th ranked team as a 21-23 point favorite

For the sake of competition, I hope Florida State loses and this issue is solved

But I don't think you can leave a 13-0 P5 champ out

There is precedent for backup quarterbacks succeeding in the playoff
I hope not. I have money riding on FSU.

FSU is out no matter what they do. The 4th spot will be between Bama. OSU and Texas. Bama was 8th and won by 3. FSU has no QB and Texas beat a shit team. Bama, Texas, OSU all with 1 loss. That's assuming Michigan wins vs Iowa only being up 10-0.
Michigan will win no problem. Covering ,-22?

Good luck y'all. It was a fun discussion. Time for me to get ready for the NFL and post some winners for tomorrow.
