It's kinda like when Miami came together, the chances for them to lose were greatest in the first season because they had to gut their entire team to get those 3 guys. They were playing bums at the other positions. Then the next year they got Battier, Ray after that, some other decent roleplayers etc.

GS is going to have to gut their team to sign Durant. Barnes, Bogut, Ezeli, Speights, Barbosa all gone. Yeah some of those guys aren't big pieces but replacing them with league minimums won't be easy.

As the years go on and they add the Battier/Ray/David West/etc of the world then it'll be tougher to beat them. Unless other super teams form or whatever.

Do you think they will ever correct the CBA closer to what baseball has in the future?

Nah, not drastically.

Owners don't want to invest 60-70 million in one guy a year when they can only pay 25-30.

And like I said, the NBA wants some parity but ultimately they want teams with LeBron, Durant, Kobe, etc at the end every year. Not teams with Ben Wallace and Chauncey Billups.

Stars drive national television ratings which drives 1/2 the league revenue.

They don't want to become baseball or hockey where fans only care about their teams.

Also, the Celtics getting KG/Allen. The Lakers getting Pau. The Heat with their team. When everyone is stuck on bad teams and the Pistons or Nets are playing in the finals isn't what the league wants.

All this stuff has been great for the NBA and its business. And the Warriors probably will be too. Even if it is on the extreme side.

14 Warriors season tickets sold on StubHub since KD announced for a total of $104,542. An average of $7,467 each, does not include playoffs.

Fair point. SF a really great city and you are only 1 of the best bball players in the world for a small % of your life. It isn't his job to legislate competitive balance.

Still just kinda lame to go to an already elite team that beat you in the conference finals, coming back from 3-1 etc.

Smartest move for Kevin if he wants a title, which I hope he gets.

One of the nicest & unselfish guys in the league & he deserves to think about himself for a change...

Ironic to see the guy who tweeted "Now everybody wanna play for the heat and the Lakers? Let's go back to being competitive and going at these peoples" in 2010 join the squad that knocked him out in the WCF.

What do you think true fair value on a bet would be (true odds) on a ticket to win the NBA title excluding GS,clev, SA.

Take the rest of the field .
What kind of odds would you need to make a $500 bet without future hedge positions allowed?

I would not touch it for less then 30/1

Salary cap went up this year then spikes to a crazy number that's why its all about the two year deal and opt out after 1 so you can get more money. Lakers will have more money don't worry. Doubt they can trade for Westbrook like the thunder is trying to see. But I don't think there is a fair trade out there for him so they might have to just accept it if he doesnt want to resign a long term contract with the thunder. I bet westbrook is the highest paid player in the NBA after next season playing elsewhere.

Can't really blame a guy for doing what is best for him, what he's entitled to, etc. But what I think sucks (and would piss me off if I were an OKC fan) is that he was more than likely thinking about this while he was playing (and choking) for the Thunder.
