I thought that at first also. But the choreography and the subtle visual effects with the cuts and lighting just sell it along with how well Beyonce and those girls perform. There is a reason why it has been parodied so many times and has 66.5 million views. Along with just how plain good that song is, it's a fun vid to watch!

I would rather jab a knitting needle in my face then try and make it through that Taylor Swift vid.

Here's Taylor Swift's video. It's about a girl who likes the captain of the football team but he's going out with the cheer captain. It's obvious he and his girlfriend aren't compatible and Swift's character understands him better and is a better fit.

They have a great dialogue since their houses are next to each other and they write signs to each other out their windows. I thought that was very imaginative.

[SPOILER ALERT]

Taylor's character hesitates at showing her sign that says "I LOVE YOU". They meet at the dance and he chooses her over the cheer captain and he pulls out a sign that reads "I LOVE YOU".

What's not to like????

As a result of it, you have a surge in traffic to MTV.com (traffic = advertising money), everyone is talking about their movie awards when they initially wouldn't be. MTV benefits.

Now Swift is going to go on every talk show where all the hosts are going to ask the same "What was going through your head!?!" question, people will start paying more attention to her career. Swift benefits.

As for Kanye... I don't really have a reason why he would do it. He's a gay fish, but a self-proclaimed "genius". Wouldn't a "genius" have realized the reprocussions of this move? Maybe he got paid to do it, and didn't realize the money wasn't worth the negative pub.
