Jai alai on NFL primetime this Sunday

Kenny Mayne from ESPN came out and did a story when the Pat's came into town about 3 weeks ago. It will air this Sunday on NFL Countdown. Don't miss it. It's really funny. He sent Marty F. an Email that said it should air at around 12:15-12:30PM this Sunday on ESPN.

Its more of front so people can play poker there. I remember going in the early 90's with my parents (i was a minor) and the place was really cool. I probably went 2-3 years ago when i had family in town (who used to love going to jai alai back in the day) and it was a real shit hole.

Hopefully it gets good again as i'd love to go

Jai alai is only worth watching live on a 180 ' court with a genuine pelota, not some bastardized sub-version of the true game

Anything less than that is not Jai alai !

In it's purest form in the Basque traditional way it's played in a partido format, but became Americanized for betting reasons only

The sport is long dead and only remains as a quirk in Florida law requiring it for poker and casino play to be allowed

My favorite sport and I was close to becoming a pro player circa 1981-2

It's not a sport that lends itself well to tv monitors, you have to be there to hear to sounds of the game, in particular the smack of a pelota hitting the granite frontis

no way is he still around must be at least 60-70 now, but was Florida's best answer to the best Bridgeport frontmen, but we had multiple guys like Egurbi, Ondarres, Bereicua, Lecube, etc that would have destroyed a 1977 Miami roster. I think Attain was the premier back man then ?

we would have destroyed them on depth, we had backs like Churrucca, Goya, and many more stars

Joey Cornblit is 61 now, best known as probably the best American born player

CT had lots of guys just as good if not better like Bolivar, Cachin, Remen, Juaristi and in the back how about Elorza, Lasa, Chimela ( played into his 50's).

overall we were better back then, but Attain was a monster !, for you guys

I miss that sport a lot and practiced with many pros, not the real big guys but pro players.

I wasn't that far from making early game backcourter at Milford, but decided against pursuing it at 18 ( pay not so great ), and moved to SD instead !

I feel I could have made it as a low level early game guy always wearing a red, blue, or white jersey and being overmatched and having a high rated frontman as my partner, essentially a nobody roster filler sort.

that didn't appeal to me, and was about my ceiling
