No matter whose missing, as long as Milan have Gattuso... he'll eat them alive, I think he could win matches on his own, the crazy bastard.

No Gilardino is okay, seeing as they have Oliveira and Inzaghi starting.

Man Utd have lost Park for 3 months due to ankle ligament damage. Ronaldo suspended tonight, so Fletcher starts on the right:Sad Face:

But the rest of the team is looking brilliant. Giggs, Scholes, Carrick, Rooney, Saha.

Awesome, now I have 37.5% of my bankroll on Milan to win outright. As always, the lesson here is, I am an idiot.
Your bankroll is about 40% bigger now.:dancefool

Not so much, risk of 37.5% was gain of 7.5%. Milan was -500, but I am certainly happy with it. Nice day Jack. F*ing Leeds D was f*ing swiss cheese today.

john, on what channel was the post game show, a brit channel? I 'd like to have a view of what others beside my local news media got to say about the games, esp. fans views. Man. U. wasn't all that bad, they were quite good actually, granted they pissed the hell out of me too at point, I was on them as posted on another thread. The team though that really, really, and I mean fucking really impressed was Lyon, first half esp. because by the second they d lowered gear. Just Wow. Great pace, full of technical players, as per last year, but better, lot's of work seems to have been put in this team (but then again real is not a fit opponent these days) and there's just too much talent in there too. Govu and Maluda from left and right respectively are just tremendous players, fred up front is excellent too, I don't need to comment any more on zuninio, tiago's good too, the defence looks very solid, and they got a great goalkeeper, if they don't again succumb to the usual affliction of the french team on a cl level, namely that of being losers when the going gets rough, I could well see them holding the trophy in the end of the year. On the contrary Madrid didn't seem that they had clicked in yet, far from it, but I am sure in a few weeks time Capello's work will be worth a few impressive wins at home against weaker opposition. They'd probably should get a snipper though to take care of Beckham, seems with all the advert money riding on his back his place in the starting line up is pinned down, which is the exact way to phrase it I guess, as he seems to be permanently pinned down on the right side half part of the offensive half with minimal movement. He was never much of dribbler to begin with, not particularly fast or capable of penetrative movements and the only thing that saved him frankly were, well, his looks and star statous, and his extraordinary right foot, extraordinary that is only in crosses, not in shots. These days not even his passing is there, and it's just pathetic, he is uefa cup material, definately not fit for cl in my book. Imagine Madrid having someone like Govou over there. If you got a player that can't really run, can't converge to the centre and penetrate the defence, can't dribble and can't really shoot, who's lost his ability to even put some decent crosses, well, across you really should give him the boot. But like I said, ad money won't allow for that, so a snipper's well worth a thought.

I am probably taking the day off for the uefa cup, I ll definately won't have the time to post, I actually have kinda started liking this laid back approach to betting, keeps your head clear(er). The under in the Xanthi game looks good if anyone's looking for action.

I never understood why the Brits had Mr. Spice kicking penalty kicks in the WC. I'm guessing it was mostly because it was a world stage and he is their most famous player.

Lampard looked like he was going to cry yesterday when Ballack took the PK.

What has happened to Lampard lately (including the WC)? Is he injured and not telling anyone?

I have no idea. He wasn't playing as well at the end of last year as he was at the beginning, but the WC was a complete disaster for him. I think it was partially having to play with Beckham which put him out of his comfort zone. Everything had to run through Becks and he got all the balls from the defenders, which turned both Gerrard and Lamps into attacking only players and not distributors/attackers. Both stunk during WC. I think it is mental now though, missing so many opps in the WC, the PK against Portugal and now the PK last week in the EPL.

Living in the UK, almost everyone I've spoken to has agreed for 3 years that Lampard is not a world class player, and has never been. The media used to lap him up because he was scoring goals. He's only being exposed for it right now, due to his shocking form. When he doesn't score the goals, he's just an average midfielder, and will never be as technically proficient as the Scholes, Deco's, and Xavi's and never have the same spark to run a game like Gerrard.

Lampard is in a team built for him. Makalele does all the defensive shielding, Essien is on fire in terms of his energy and hard work, and Lampard is expected to get goals and create but he's doing neither. When he was voted 2nd best player in the world, the silly voters probably saw a few highlights packages of his goals, but never saw his performances.

thanks for the link john.

Panathinaikos has got some fresh talent in but have yet to fit in and function as a team, besides I know little of their opponents. I wouldn't touch them. Lastly a weird case of dysentery, or gastro-intestinal problems has hit the team with a few good players sitting out due to that and some doubtfull...

Some weird shit...next thing you know a ufo lands on the field and our bets are voided....

I have actually heard the same about Lampard Rhino, although I don't tend to agree. He was a monster the first 2/3 of last season and the year prior. He certainly isn't as well rounded as the guys you mentioned, but then again he doesn't have to be with Makelele and Essien. I suppose we shall see what happens. Essien is an absolute beast, I gained a huge level of respect for his game during the world cup and since. He isn't being used to his fullest by Chelsea. No need to sign Ballack when they had him IMO. Similar players, or at least Essien is capable of the same game if given the chance, and Essien is younger and better IMO.

Now, we should stop polluting Jack's thread and start this in another one or one of ours.

I think he's being unfairly targeted by the press here. They latch onto the next big thing, make them a star, and then when they realise they're not as good as they made them out to be they kill them. I've never thought he was a great player, I've seen him peform out of his skin very few times.
