So - at www.JackWinningham.com I do NOT force bets.

Last week was fantastic! A 9-4 week where $100 bettors raked in $460! Great week!

Here's the thing. I usually bet every day. But I don't bet just because the sun rose in the East. Today is not a good night. We need to let some things reset after the All Star Break in the NHL. And the NBA is in flux. I have no idea how these guys are gonna play after the tragedy yesterday. And believe me, it IS a factor.
So I'm passing today. I had 2 plays in mind, Utah over Houston - but when Harden was ruled doubtful the line jumped by nearly TEN points. With that line, I'm backing off. I also looked at the Ottawa/NJ under 6.5, but the line came out at 6 - and that half points makes a difference.
So - I do NOT force bets. Sit back and do some evaluating tonight, and we'll meet back here tomorrow.

HAPPY HUNTING!

My writes ups from earlier tonight

Boston -13.5 vs Golden State
Okay, we all know the Warriors are terrible. They’ve only won 3 times all year on the road. Surprisingly though, they are 12-12 ATS away from home. But they are about to begin a LONG road trip – and starting off against Boston isn’t good news. To say they will lose tonight isn’t any tough prediction. Some books have even taken the money line off the board. Others have Boston at -1400. It’s all about how badly GS will be beaten. Boston has a solid home record ATS (13-9-1), and of late have taken 4 out of 5. Tatum is going to be back tonight, but the big man Kanter won’t. That’s a concern. But still – this is about ‘can they cover’. Tonight, the Celtics draw one of the league’s worst offenses, a terrible defensive and rebounding team that is playing out the string. IMO, the Warriors will be lucky to crack 100 points, while Boston is over 120. That equals a cover.
NHL
Nashville/New Jersey over 6
Nashville won last night, even after giving up some bad goals. New Jersey consistently gives those up. Two bad teams usually get together, make a lot of mistakes, and see some bad goals let in. I’m shocked this o/u is at 6 and not 6.5. But we’ll take it. Nashville is one of the mirage teams in the NHL. The league does a masterful job of covering up it’s warts by skewing the standings to make bad teams look better than they are. Nashville is a prime example. Check the NHL standings, and they are 23-19-7. The 7 represents OT losses – for which they get a point. Look – a loss is a loss is a loss. In reality the Predators are 23-26. But hey, 23-19-7 sure looks better – especially to the Predators’ and league’s marketing departments. Then there are numbers we can look at that don’t lie. Nashville’s over record is 30-17. Against the Eastern Conference, they’ve gone over in 11 of their last 12. And they get to face the Devils tonight - who’s over record is 27-20. I’m not counting on the offensive prowess of the Devils to push this one over, but Nashville looked sloppy defensively last night, despite winning. Saros gave up the puck when he went behind the net – to Ovechkin of all players – and his defense had a giveaway right in front of the net as well. Bad teams make those mistakes. And the Preds are skating on tired legs. Everything is pointing to an over tonight.
