BRESCIA at RAVENNA
I believe Chievo will have a tough time with Lecce, who can match them offensively, and are far superior on defense. I also believe Albinoleffe will have a very tough time against Bari, who could surprise the visitor; a potential mini upset could be in the works here. Bologna should – in theory – throttle Cesena, and Pisa should have an equally easy time with Treviso; although I believe Treviso will fare much better, as Pisa has not clicked offensively in the last few games, and Treviso has played much better in their last dozen games or so. This brings us to Brescia, the final contender for Serie A graduation. Not the most fluid team on the road, for whatever reason they don’t have the same predatorial instincts as they do at home. However, this is an opportunity to potentially gain some ground in the standings against teams like Chievo and Lecce, and despite Ravenna’s respectable home record of 4W-5L-4T 17GF 18GA, they are overall full of holes on the defensive front (15 goals allowed in the last 6 games). With this outfit it could be scoreless at the half, and then end up losing the game 3-0. Winning on the road is tough in any league, but Brescia has been regaining form and are far superior to Ravenna in every department. Don’t think they will settle for a draw here, and will definitely be in “seek and destroy” mode. A win here will be huge, especially knowing that they will come back home to face Cesena next week.
